Coming soon to CBS! As always, this thread is NON-SPOILER, so if you have "inside info" take it somewhere else.

This one looks really cool. That exile island thing was interesting and Im curious to see how they will put that into the game. When is it gonna start?

Maybe when they exile the person to the island, Gilbert Gottfried is already there to make their night miserable?

I'm tired of Central America. Really. At least they've added something different with Exile Island. But still, is there nowhere else to go?

Aren't all the episodes pretty much "exile island"? In this new show, is the person who gets voted out of the tribe sent to Exile Island for a night?

I doubt it'll be the person voted out going there, because their game is over. It'll probably be like someone who loses a special weekly challenge or something. Seems interesting though.

Applications for S13
are up on CBS.com and it's being filmed late-June thru August 2006.
The
old application for S12
said they were going to be filming late-October thru December, which means they are probably finishing up right around now (I assume they'll want to be done before Xmas) so it should be airing sometime in the Spring.

RE: Survivor 12: Panama - Exile Island (non-spoiler thread)
In the past, Survivor series have been aired shortly after they finish filming, giving them five months between the final tribal council and the live finale, that's what they did with Australia at least according to my "The most outrageous moments" tape.
Survivor Borneo was filmed from March 13 to April 20, 2000, it aired from May 31 to August 23, 2000. However the finale was not live, this was the only time the winner was revealed to the whole jury immediately. I actually remember Jenna Lewis on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, and she told the whole audience who the winner was, they bleeped it of course, but you could tell it was a person with one syllable in their name. Craig's response of "I can't believe that loser won" pretty much gave it away too, but Rich was very lucky in having Kelly swing her vote at the final four or else he would have been eliminated due to more prior votes.
Outback filmed: October 23 - December 3, 2000
Outback aired: January 28 - May 3, 2001
Africa filmed: July - August, 2001
Africa aired: October 4th, 2001 - January 17, 2002 (the reason this aired so late was because of September 11th, and there was no tv for a while, and the reason Marquesas came on so close to this one. Survivor 4 was originally supposed to be in Arabia.)
There is a fairly consistent pattern, so if it's finishing up before Christmas, we can expect it to air in late March at the latest.
________
Here's some interesting facts from wikipedia
Most days on Survivor:
1. Big Tom Buchanan - 73 days (37 Africa; 36 All Stars)
2. Amber Brkich - 72 days (33 Outback; 39 All Stars)
3. Stephanie LaGrossa - 69 days (30 Palau; 39 Guatemala)
Both winners of the British series have won by a 7-0 vote.
In 11 seasons and 166 different survivors, only 6 have never been eliminated from the game (if you count being runnerup as being eliminated,
which technically they are):
Vecepia (Marquesas)
Brian (Thailand)
Sandra (Pearl Islands)
Chris (Vanuatu)
Tom (Palau)
Danni (Guatemala)
Rich, Tina, and Ethan all lost in All Stars, and in the reverse effect Amber lost in the Outback.
Amazon winner Jenna Morasca quit All Stars to be with her mother.
Four players have been eliminated without receiving any voted, Mike Skupin due to injury, Paschal English due to a stone, and Wanda and Jonathan who weren't picked at the beginning of Palau.
Carl (Africa), Paschal (Marquesas), and Jennifer (Pulau) all were eliminated because of a tiebreaker. (Previous votes were not a factor, due to no previous votes or the rules of tiebreakers changing.
Kelly Wigglesworth of Borneo is the only player to never have any votes cast against her and finish runner-up.
Five winners never had votes cast against them: Sandra, Tom, Brian, Ethan, and Tina.
Four winners were in their 20s when they won (Ethan Zohn was 27, Jenna Morasca was 21, Amber Brkich was 25, and Sandra Diaz-Twine was 29). Five winners were in their 30s when they won (Richard Hatch was 39, Vecepia Towery was 36, Brian Heidik was 34, Chris Daugherty was 34, and Danni Boatwright was 30). Two players were in their 40s when they won (Tina Wesson was 40 and Tom Westman was 41).
In nine out of eleven final votes, the player who lived north of the other player won. Richard Hatch (Rhode Island) beat Kelly Wiglesworth (Nevada). Tina Wesson (Tennessee) beat Colby Donaldson (Texas). Ethan Zohn (Massachusetts) beat Kim Johnson (Long Island, New York). Vecepia Towery (Oregon) beat Neleh Dennis (Utah). Brian Heidik (California) beat Clay Jordan (Louisiana). Jenna Morasca (Pennsylvania) beat Matthew Von Ertfelda (Washington, DC). Sandra Diaz-Twine (Washington) beat Lillian Morris (Ohio). Chris Daugherty (Ohio) beat Twila Tanner (Missouri). Tom Westman (New York) beat Katie Gallagher (California). The only exceptions were in All-Stars, when Amber Brkich (Pennsylvania) beat Rob Mariano (Massachusetts), and Guatemala, when Danni Boatwright (Kansas) beat Stephenie LaGrossa (New Jersey).
Both players named Sean (spelled that way) in Survivor history have finished in 5th place: Sean Kenniff finished 5th in Survivor: Borneo, and Sean Rector finished 5th in Survivor: Marquesas.
Various minority groups have all won the show, including Richard Hatch, an open homosexual, Ethan Zohn, a Jew, Vecepia Towery, an African-American, and Sandra Diaz-Twine, a Hispanic-American.
According to a fan poll, these are the best moments of the first 8 seasons:
Sue Hawk's bitter "snake and rat" speech in Survivor: Pulau Tiga
Michael Skupin falling in a fire in Survivor: The Australian Outback
The Ghandia scream in Survivor: Thailand
Jenna Morasca and Heidi Strobel taking off their clothes in Survivor: The Amazon
Jon Dalton (aka Johnny Fairplay) making up a lie that his grandmother had died when she really hadn't in Survivor: Pearl Islands
Rupert Boneham stealing shoes from his rival team in Survivor: Pearl Islands

Even though Im tired of the whole Panama locale Exile Island does sound interesting. Im also curious to see how the tribes will be put together in a way 'never before seen' or whatever Probst said.

RE: Survivor 12: Panama - Exile Island (non-spoiler thread)
Can't wait for the next edition. though I would love for them to change the locale from tropical to cold weather. Like Alaska. For one season anyway. Unfortunatley, in this age, sex sells. And for most men. The prospect of NOT seeing girls in bikini. Well, the ratings would plumet faster than the temperature. Of course an immunity chalenge could be done. Where everyone strips down to their underwear. While Jeff "The tribe has spoken" Probst tempts the Survivors with nice warm coats.
SPECIAL REQUEST: I know who won 'Guatemala'. But my VCR stopped after the first tribal council. Can someone, ANYONE, send me a tape of the 3 hour finale show? I will pay the postage back to sender.
