Ain't It Cool News posted:
Is This An Early Description Of The INDIANA JONES 4 Trailer?!

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

That’s what a brand-new spy claims.

This is an unproven source. But based on the volume of mail I get from you guys asking for any information whatsoever about this film, I figure we can have a little fun with this description of the trailer, which we’ll see premiering on the official Indiana Jones website on Friday, February 15th, with a theatrical launch the day before. This spy keeps calling this a teaser, but considering how long it is until the film’s in theaters, how many trailers do you think they’re really going to do?

Is this what you’ll see when the trailer premieres with, I’m assuming, THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES?

Time will tell...

Here is the info:

The trailer starts off with the Paramount logo, then shows the idol from the start of RAIDERS.

Words come across the screen and say, "He found the Ark..."

Then clips from TEMPLE OF DOOM as it says, "He survived the Temple..."

Then clips of the third movie and, "He saved the Grail."

Then it shows a clip of a car pulling up and Indiana being thrown from the car. Then it says, "On May 22nd... he is back," and it shows him picking up his hat and the silhouette of Indiana Jones. Cue theme song.

Some really fast action scenes follow, and the highlight is a car chase scene in the warehouse where RAIDERS ends. One quick shot shows a box that is labled "Roswell". The trailer shows Cate Blanchett with dark hair ordering around troops.

The teaser then shows what looks to be a huge Mayan temple where the actors fall through quicksand, and the temple opens up and they start running down a long staircase where the stairs are coming out from the walls.

After some more quick action scenes, the trailer ends with Shia Labeouf standing at the bottom of stairs and looking up to Harrison Ford. Shia says, "I thought you said you were a teacher?!?!"

After two quick scenes where Indiana is punching a guy, it cuts back to Harrison and he replies, "Part time!"

I wasn't expecting much, but I was more than surprised and pleased with what I saw.

Call me Short But Not Round.

Is it bad that, just by reading those painfully-cheesy trailer lines, I got hard enough to club a baby seal?

Seems heavily over-lit, and I'm not convinced she's actually part of the same shot; looks more like a bad composition.

I'm sure that second one isn't a still from the film. It appears to be a set-visit photographer snapping a shot from a rehearsal. I suspect that Cate is looking off to the side getting some direction. And the "over-lit" aspect is the flash from the camera taking the photo from the magazine spread.

The "sheen" on Indy's chest giving away the camera-flash is the big culprit here, but the background still seems intensely bright in comparison to the darks in Cate's area.

Though this is by far the best I've seen Ford look in KotCS. It really looks like you're seeing him from Last Crusade.

As beat up and dirty as he looks, it looks like the Raiders warehouse comes along fairly well into the film.

Also, the-soldier-to-the-left in that earlier Commie Cate pic looks just like Mikhail "Patchy" Bakunin from LOST Season 3...i.e., the Awesome Andrew Divoff.

So I checked IMDB. It's him. Awesome.

The other one looks like Sean Penn with Down Syndrome.

The first half got me really psyched, but then I got the impression from the second half that the neww storyline may be a stinker.

Was it just me, or did Indy seem a little quippier than usual?

(Just in case anyone is wondering, the music from the first half of the trailer is Brian Tyler's Children of Dune. Which is a pretty good score, but it's now starting to get trailer-abused.)

When that theme kicked in with the silhouette, the trailer had me. But that was a damn fine trailer. Pretty much the structure and style you'd expect, but it LOOKS wonderful, and seems to fit right in with the previous films, unlike Die Hard 4.0.

That was pretty WHIP-SWING heavy. I guess Indy's using the whip to get from Point A to Point B, instead of a Rascal scooter, or something. While we're at it...I, for one, am going to be hella disappointed if this film breaks Indy continuity by featuring any sort of plane-crash or falling-from-the-sky in a raft that doesn't look completely fake. That's not the Indy I remember.

I'm downloading the 1080p trailer right now to check out "Oh rape! Fake CG!"...but seriously, people, ever watched the Last Crusade plane-dogfight a little closer?

No matter what else happens today, I'll think of this, the fact that this movie's actually happening, and smile.

Welcome home, old boy.

"COMRADE!! Ve happy?"
"Ja, ve happy."

The scenes with Indy swinging through the warehouse looked a little Spider-Man-esque.
