I am not a super OMG <3 Indy fan, so I think I will be able to enjoy this. The trailer looks great.

The trailer was a bit long, but better than average.

Shia looks like an Amish Fonzie.
No comments yet on the new poster? Three of my own:
- Harrison looks a wee bit puffy.
- They heard the rage of font-fetishists everywhere, and fixed the logo.
- Yet another splendid Drew Struzan Spectacle™.
BUT: Is Karen Allen really gonna be grinning for the whole film? Give the Smylex a small break, please.

The poster looks great. Marion and the other guy in the bottom left hand corner look a little out of place though.

I remember the argument that erupted on CHUD when the first poster came out. That was **** sad.

It's things like that, that have made me pretty much stay spoiler free from images and plot points of this movie. It's something that I'll refer to as post traumatic prequel syndrome. The SW prequels were so built up before they came out. Fans built themselves up so much with high expectations, they were practically begging to be disappointed. Of course they weren't the best movies to begin with(especially AOTC), but I think fans look down on them even harder because their expectations weren't met.
I do not want this to happen for the new Indy film because based on the trailer, it looks like it'll be a fun ride.

I both agree and disagree with him. I am already prepared for the outcry of dissapointed fans, in fact its becoming some what en vogue to say that you are expecting it to fail. At the moment I am indifferent. I look forward to the film and will definately see it, but I have no delusions that it will top the others. I think fans have this unreasonable expectation that if a sequel doesn't blow them away it should never be made. In a lot of instances I agree that a sequel is little more than a cash grab, and really we didn't need another Indy film. However, its been made and its going to be released...there isn't much that can be done about that and I don't see why people get huffy saying they shouldn't have made the fourth one. And quite frankly I just want to enjoy it. I just want to revisit some old friends and go back to a familiar place but at the same time see it from a completely new perspective. Will it be as good as the classics? Possibly but unlikely as the classics have a nostalgia factor.
On the flip side I do think there were a lot of flaws in the prequel trilogy that get brushed off too easily by people as fanboy nitpicking. Then again I am apparently one of the few that doesn't think the originals are perfect and themselves are abundantly flawed. In both instances I am able to get past the flaws because the elements I love far outweigh those that I don't. Otherwise I wouldn't be a Star Wars fan on a Star Wars Message board. As far as I am concerned Indy is the same.

I love that photo above, it should be an exciting scene. As for the film, I can understand what he is saying, but I'm still highly optimistic that it can deliver. The first trailer was very good and has me begging for more.
