What was it about Molly Ringwald that was so alluring, and how did John Hughes know? I was as allured as the rest of them, but she's wasn't sexy in a way that anyone could articulate.

Because Redford's narcissism makes him unwatchable--at least for me--I haven't seen this one, but the book says it is beautifully photographed, and has an equally good score.

All the women I know love the scene where Redford washes Streep's hair. God only knows what that's all about.

I do remember this much from when I watched it long ago:

It's very, very long. sleep

Haven't seen it,but the score is indeed very good, though even that I could see putting you to sleep.

One of my favorite films. The score by John Barry is sweeping and the photography is gorgeous, and the whole film is moving and stirring on a level that very few of these romantic epics achieve. That it's based on the autobiography of the main character makes it that much more compelling, IMO. It is a modern classic and deserves to be seen.

I really dislike pretty much everything Woody Allen does. There's just something about his films that bug me to death.

However, I really loved Purple Rose of Cairo. It was just brilliant writing and great acting.

A click-together plot, with a witty script, brisk direction and fine performances.

Tremendous fun.

The best thing about the Woody Allen film "The Purple Rose of Cairo" is that Woody Allen does not appear in it. He was smart. I like a lot of his films, but he doesn't belong in all of them. This is a great little film.

Back to the Future is an American classic. I've always enjoyed it, but I came to love it when I was given a gift card at Christmas and spent it to buy the Back to the Future trilogy. I learned so much from that DVD set! 10 hours of commentary and background material. It's a great film, and a great series.

My favorite factoid: at first the writers were going to put the time machine in an abandoned refrigerator instead of a DeLorean but they were afraid kids would see the film and then lock themselves in abandoned refrigerators trying to travel in time.

I'm certainly no film expert, but how tightly written the script for "Back to the Future" is just astounds me.

The thing that I love is the end of Back to the Future Part II. The idea of setting a time travel movie inside another time travel movie was absolutely BRILLIANT. applause
