Steven Spielberg will begin filming the fourth Jurassic Park film next year reports Ananova.
Producer Frank Marshall says the script has been finalised he said: "It has a good script now, so we should have that one up and running next year, for release in 2008"
The character of Lexie, the granddaughter of Sir Richard Attenborough's character, will take the lead in the new film.
I wonder if Ariana Richards will be returning as Lex (not Lexie  )
Oh well, as long as it's not that stupid "dino's evolve into intelligent bipeds" story that has been tossed around for years, I'll be happy.

 Since when is Crichton some literary god that's going to be ashamed of the commercialization of one of his novels?
This is the guy that wrote Twister.
He writes books that do the same as the movies. They entertain. Nothing wrong with that.
Unless it is that whole "intelligent bipeds" thing. Then there will be no end to anyone's crying.
Edit: Either ways I rank this up there with Indy 4. Once they start filming it will be one thing but other then that we've heard this song and dance before.

I may go see it, still holding out the hope that it can realize again hte dream offered to us in the first movie.
Unfortunately, it seems that quite literally, the longer screen times the series as a whole has, the more downhill it goes. For instance, JPII was actually doing okay, until they decided to end it with the Godzilla-esque "T-Rex in LA." "Oh no, he ate rover!" And the third installment was just terrible.
Maybe it can recover, though. Hopefully, anyway.

Well, keep in mind the only reason the T-Rex in San Diego sequence was in Lost World was because Spielberg knew he wasn't going to be directing JP3, and that was what they were going to do in JP3 originally, but he didn't want to miss out on it so he got it into TLW.
Also, it was rather funny that Mr. E.T. was the one to finally kill the family dog after numerous other films at the time had dogs miraculously surviving situations (lava in Volcano, city destroying blast wave fire in ID4, etc).

Yes. The film was decent until this moment. Then it just turned horrible. The first in the series was fantastic, I can't see a fourth (I didn't even know three existed until recently) doing anyone any good at all.

Personally I liked JP-III more than Lost World. I just, as I said many times before, that Speilberg can stop being so depressing, dark, and brooding. JP2 had none of the fun of the first one. And I hope that he does not use Januz Kaminsky as a DP. And brings back Dean Cundey who photographed the first JP. And while Speilberg is at it uses Cundey for IJ4 too.

You know, I actually felt the complete opposite. I hated JP2 until they got back to the city. Then, it was still stupid, but at least it was entertaining.

I didn't mind the T-Rex in San Diego stuff. What pisses me off about TLW is that they never explained what killed all the people on the boat! It wasn't the T-Rex because it was in the cargo hold and couldn't have killed the people in the cabin. But noone ever explained it! Damnit!
