Man, first Ghostface cancelled his show in my 500.000 people hometown in Sweden to go on tour with Wu-tang, not dropping by here ofcourse, then I missed Nas concert here because I had booked a flight to paris that way earlier and now Rakim cancelled after passport problems.

Illmatic is a classic and essential album for any hip-hop fan. If someone wants to get into Nas they should get that album first.

If someone wants to get in to hip-hop they should get that album first.
In other news, Kanye and 50 both released albums yesterday. The good news: Kanye outsold 50 by about 100k copies. The bad news: 50 Cent has retracted his announcement that he'll retire if Kanye outsells him.

If anyone is fed up with all the 50/Kanye hype and just wants raw east coast rap, check out the new Army of the Pharaohs album Ritual of Battle. It comes out this Tuesday (the 25th). Having listened to it already, I have to say it's one of my favorite albums this year.

I just heard the new Chamillionaire and I think it's all right. He's definitely got stuff I haven't heard before and in one song he references Vader, even though Vader is the most referenced SW character in hip-hop.

I've listened to Bloody Tears which is not bad and I heard Jus is only on three songs??

In all honestly Jus Allah was disappointing. Everyone else stepped up their game from the last album though. Vinnie Paz was crazy on some tracks. Some of the beat are really good too. The production was way more consistent than Torture Papers.
