We have several areas that aren't covered by threads. I'm looking for people to host threads on the following:

1. Music:

We seem to have a lot of rock, a little jazz and reggae, and some classical. But there are several genres missing.

Armenian has agreed to host the hip hop/rap thread. We are still short several others:

x. Syndicated Radio shows (do not have to be strictly music)

You don't have to be an expert. You just have to like the area and willing to give some history, short bios of musicians, and recommendations. Rule of thumb: when the thread falls to page 6, (which takes approximately a week to ten days), it needs updating.

There is a thread on Walt Disney, but nothing on:

a. The history of animation, starting with "Gertie the Dinosaur" and the Fleischer brothers, moving on to Disney and then to the studio animation departments--MGM, Warners, etc.

b. History of Anime, both movies and TV.

c. Foreign (non-Japanese) animation.

d. Hanna-Barbera thread ("The Flintstones", "The Jetsons", etc.)

e. Bad Saturday morning animation.*TAKEN*

f. Feature-Length animation, starting with "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves", and including cult items.

g. A cartoon-by-cartoon thread on "Looney Tunes"/"Merrie Melodies"

h. There are Appreciation Threads for "The Simpsons", "Futurama", "The Family Guy" and "South Park", but a overview thread of modern prime-time television animation would include "Ren & Stimpy", "King of the Hill" and several others, including the shows that were not successful (but often very good.) *TAKEN*

Not much art on the forum, especially since Rogue wrapped up the top art of the 20th Century list. I would like to try some artists threads, following their works in chronological order. Some have careers that are particularly suited to this, for instance:

a. Goya;
b. Van Gogh;
c. Degas;
d. Durer;
e. Holbein;
f. Turner;
g. Bacon;
h. Freud;
i. Daumier;
j. Folk Art;
k. Desert Island (if you stranded on a Desert Island with a air-conditioned spot for them, what five paintings would you take with you?)

(Any other suggestions appreciated)

Also histories of historical movements, such as Cubism, Surrealism, Fauvism, etc.

Would cooking or things like crafting or folk art be considered something that would fit into the forum? It might be JCC material, but then anything on that sort of topic usually sinks like a rock over there. Not sure it would do good here either. But then cook books can also come into it.

what about Broadway musicals? I mean i don't know how popular they are with the users of this site, but i happen to love them. That would be the only thread i think i would be up to hosting properly.
