I thought it was the best superhero film of them all, in its story and its filmming. And Batman isnt even close to my favorite superhero. Not by a long shot. Thats a tie between the son of Jor-l and Tony Stark.
EDIT - and your not alone - theres alot of people who didnt like BB.

I loved Batman Begins. An intelligent superhero film? Colour me astounded.
Zethyus posted: I think a candidate for the title is Batman Continues. Can't really think of anything else that makes sense.
That's a fairly dull choice, if you ask me. It might as well be Batman Plods Along.
somethingfamiliar posted: That would be nice, but then the womenfolk won't go see it. They'll be all (does high voice) "I can't go see a movie if there's no romance in it! I'm a woman!"
… I hope you are joking. I know plenty of 'womenfolk' who don't even like romance films.
Anyway, two points, regarding the bad guy.
1 - The Joker has to be in the next film, as the end of Begins irreversibly set it up for his entrance.
2 - I heard rumours about Phillip Seymour Hoffman being chased for the part of The Penguin. Thoughts?

Hoffman would be an intriguing choice, although the Penguin would be a tricky role for anyone to play, even an actor of his stature. The very nature of the character alone makes him almost impossible to take seriously as a villain so obviously Hoffman would have his work cut out for him.

Well, I think that if anyone could make The Penguin work, it would be Hoffman. Given the serious and believable approach of Begins towards an otherwise outlandish character in The Scarecrow, I think they could do it.

Youre probably right, although they'd have to make some drastic changes to the character, especially his look.

I suppose another option would be to have Hoffman do the Joker. It would be an interesting take on the character, certainly.

Crispin Glover should be Joker. He looks freakishly like him, and he's got being weird down to a science.

Batman Bugongs?
Hmm, what about Batman Reloaded, followed by Batman Revolutions?

The plan as stated last year is to have the Joker be the baddie in pt. 2, meanwhile introducing Harvey Dent. Pt. 3 is supposed to open with the Joker's trial creating Two-Face, and Two-Face as the main villain of Pt. 3.
Based on this plan, I think pt. 2 will bejust fine. The Joker has alwys seemed to be Batman's ultimate nemesis, so Nolan would basically have to try hard NOT to make this one top Batman Begins.
What concerns me is pt. 3, where the Joker is relegated to the background. If they're just doing an ongoing series sort of thing with room for pt. 4 or more, that's fine. But I keep hearing the word 'trilogy', in which case I wonder about having the climax of the trilogy be Batman's battle with a guy who just became a villain. Nolan would have to be very careful to lay the groundwork in pt. 2 to make Bruce/Batman's friendship with Harvey/Two-Face one powerful enough for the end of pt. 3 to feel like payoff not just for pt. 3 but for the whole series (or at the very least for both pts. 2 and 3). Alternately, Nolan could have the Joker turn out to be the ultimate villain closer to the end of 3 in a revelation similar to what he did with Ducard/Ra's.
But above and beyond ALL of that, what I'm really interested in seeing is if and how Nolan will develop Batman's character through the 'trilogy'. If it is in fact a trilogy, I would really love to see some sort of arc develop that takes place cohesively over all three, rather than just each movie having its own arc. I don't even care if Nolan breaks the comic's rules of where Batman can and cannot go, story/continuity-wise, personally, and psychologically.

The Joker/Harvey Dent story line is the one I've heard, too. Part 2 will be Batman, Gordon, and Dent hunting down Joker and finally catching him. The part 3 will be about his trial, along with the Two-Face story of Batman having to take down one of his only friends.

If they want to do a two face origin, they should just make a film based on long halloween. done right, it'd be the best thing ever. Well, maybe it'd have to be two films. But still.

I dunno, there are too many vilains in the long halloween to make a viable movie, unless they trim it down a lot.
However, it could make a really good miniseries(along with Dark Victory).

DarthLassic007 posted: Meh. I'm probably one of the few people on Earth that didn't like Batman Begins. The movie was boring and the Scarecrow was a sucky villain. The Batman movie franchise will never beat the Spider-Man or Superman movies. But at least Batman Begins was better than the Hulk. Barely.
Nah, I'm one. It was actually better than I thought it would be, but once he actually became Batman the movie just went downhill. They wasted three villains each would have been great in their own movie. For all of the talk about how this movie would be true to the comics, it wasnt, and the few things that actually worked in it were from Burton's films, and other films.
I disagree about the Hulk though, it got the feel of the comics down perfectly, its really close behind Spider-man and the Crow.
