Peter Travers tends to annoy me.
But I'll probably agree with him on his review, and ask him to stop giving the "I don't actually know much about Batman" media quote of "Taking note of Bob Kane's orginal Batman and Frank Miller's bleak rethink" and maybe bother to get out and read the comic that provides most of the storyline to this movie: The Long Halloween, which hits Tragic far far better than The Dark Knight Returns can ever hope for.

4-0 so far on rottentomatoes. And these reveiws arent just "fresh". I think atleast two of them have called it a masterpiece. One guy said it might be the best superhero movie ever. My anticipation for this movie has now soared. I cant wait.

I'm not sure "The Dark Knight Returns" was ever actually going for a tragic feel.
Well, except for the opening chapter with Harvey Dent, and it really doesn't get into him all that much. You sort of have to know Harvey Dent and his overall story to get the full impact.
And remember, the entire foundations of "The Long Halloween" were laid in "Batman: Year One". It was Miller's choice to feature Harvey prominent there, and resist temptation and give only the faintest -- almost invisible -- hint to who he would become.

I didn't notice before but in that poster the HAHAHAs form a bat underneath the title. It's an excellent poster. All of them have been. I can't stop watching these trailers either.
The marketing for this film has been superb.

For me, The Dark Knight is going to be my second favorite movie this summer. I have already labeled Wall*E as my favorite movie this summer. I've already seen it 5 times and want to see it another 5 times. The Dark Knight I will probably want to see 3 or 4 times.
But one thing is for sure, the Dark Knight is going to be the Summers biggest blockbuster. Commercially, I think it will blow all other Summer movies away.

Rottentomatoes has posted clips from the movie. Based on the one Joker clip, the trailers dont even scratch the surface on how good Ledger is. You also get to hear some of what I suspect is the new Joker theme, which is supposed to be amazing.
