I've never cared for soccer. The only sports I follow are tennis, basketball and figure skating.

It's odd because I only like sports when I'm watching movies about them. Like Hoosiers or Chariots of Fire or something. Then I'm absolutely on my feet cheering. Try to watch an actual game and I just nod off.

then maybe you're interested in murderball. i hear it's good.
personally i'm not a huge soccer fan but you cannot get away from it these days in germany, so i might as well embrace it i'll probably watch the final game, if i get the chance and don't have to work, simply because finals are always so exciting. i remember watching the one for the european championships last time around, greece vs portugal and you just didn't think the greeks would make it and i was sitting there shouting things at the TV and so.. yeah, i can't really be bothered with all the matches that lead up to it, i really just wonder if we can make it this time. and for the record, i placed my bet on brazil.

Apparently there is a hotel in Britain that is offering a chance to get away from it all - if any guest hears a member of staff talking about the game, the guest gets something like £20.
