So Reality summer is here. There are the classics like Big Brother and now Rock Star. And new comers like Treasure Hunters.
Here is the Place to talk reality TV, any reality TV going on at the time. Right Now Are focus are the three big ones: Rock Star: Supernova, Big Brother: 7 All-stars and Treasure Hunters.
Big Brother: 7 All Stars
Big Brother
The seventh season of the American version of Big Brother premiered on July 6, 2006. Prior to that, on June 21, twenty former contestants from past seasons were shown as candidates for the show. After the preview show, internet voting was opened up to the public, and the top six vote getters would automatically enter the house, with another six being chosen by the producers. On the first episode, however, it was revealed that due to a high amount of voting, the top four male and top four female vote-getters would be admitted, as well as the six other producer chose contestants, bringing the total cast up from twelve to fourteen.
The competition will be played similar to the recent prior seasons, with Head of Household and Golden Power of Veto competitions, houseguests being nominated for eviction, and one member of the cast being voted out of the house by his remaining peers each week. The last remaining houseguest will win US$500,000.
Rock Star: Supernova
Rock Star: Supernova is the second season of the reality television show Rock Star where 15 contestants compete to become the lead vocalist for the rock band Supernova.
In March 2006, it was announced that the new season would focus on finding a lead singer for a new group entitled Supernova, featuring Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. The show began online on the Rock Star web site on MSN on Monday, July 3rd with an Internet exclusive weekly episode and premiered on 5 July 2006 on CBS in the United States and Global in Canada. Once again, it is hosted by Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke. Votes can be cast on the Rock Star website.
The newly formed Supernova will record an album after the show's run followed by a world tour in early 2007.
Each week they cover a Rock song. If voted into the finale three they then preform another song to help convince Supernova to not eliminate them.
Treasure Hunters
reasure Hunters is a reality television series on NBC (US) and Global Television (Canada) in which ten teams of three solve puzzles in hopes of solving the ultimate puzzle and winning the grand prize. Teams travel across the United States and around the world in search of seven "artifacts" which when assembled will "lead to the key. Find the key, and find the treasure."
The two-hour premiere episode aired on June 18, 2006 and beginning June 26 the series moved to its regular Monday night timeslot.
The Hunt is similar in format to The Amazing Race. Key differences include:
* Teams consist of three members as opposed to The Amazing Race's usual two
* The start location of each leg is not necessarily the end point of the previous leg
* Teams are provided with a Motorola RAZR cell phone, by which they receive messages and information from host Laird MacIntosh; they may also use the phones to call other teams
* Teams are provided with a laptop computer with "special access" to Ask.com and Orbitz.com
* Clues are more cryptic but may include multiple ways to solve them, and false solutions are incorporated into them; however, teams don't have to solve clues on their own to advance
These are the three main reality shows this summer.
Air Times:
Treasure Hunters: Mondays 9PM NBC
Rock Star: Supernova: Tuesdays: 8PM CBS (Performances), Wednesdays 8PM (Elimination Day)
Big Brother: Not 100% Sure.
Now here we talk about the show, whats going on. But to keep from confusion please make sure everyone knows what your talking about.
Please highlight Spoilers.
Now we begin.
So I'll start us off. Big Brother, one of my favorite shows. and love watching how it plays out. This year looks good. Not like Survivor: All-Stars(Yes I did Say it). This one seems to be more smart, and will be the most well played game by far. This year already had a twist, like two HoH(Head of Household)
Rock Star, kicked off with an amazing week. Its my type of music, not like American Idol, plus we don't have to watch crappy auditions. (Not funny anymore AI) But to see these guys rock it out for the ultimate prize is great. Some good performances and some bad. They'll get better with time.
Treasure Hunters, a good way to re-do and one up the Amazing Race. Although it is good. It isn't as good as the Amazing Race. this one is smarter and you have to have intelligences to compete. But it seems good so far. A little bit diffrent but looks good.

In the year that hockey was on strike I'll admit that I started watching both "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race".
I'm still watching the former, but the latter has become so dumbed down that I've just about given up on it. What is interesting is the ways people cope with trouble and with each other, and how fatigue affects it all. (TAR has some beautiful scenery, too.)
Can't say I've ever watched either "Big Brother" or "Rock Star". I saw a few minutes of "Treasure Hunters" which seemed to be an attempt to reverse the stupidity of the clues and tasks on TAR. But I didn't catch the beginning, and if you don't you can't tell what's going on.

I may actually try and catch 'Treasure hunters', but otherwise Summer hasn't done aything to enhance my feelings for reality TV (Although I will stop to watch 'America has talent' just to see my man The 'Hoff in action!)

Okay, I admit I looked at that show. In passing. Hoff is awful as a judge, making his level of non-talentedness complete.

I was surfing on Wednesday and turned Americas Got Talent on. And there was a drag Queen on. I went to vomit, and he was back. My dinner that night was very expensive and now its in a river somewhere. I stopped watching then and there.
I'm looking forward to Rock Star tomorrow I cant wait.

Be thankful you missed the guy who took off all his clothes and rolled across the stage in a giant pink balloon, and no, I'm not kidding.

What about Hell's Kitchen?! It's the best one out there. It's the only show where someone actually calls another person a ******* donkey.

If I say that, I would have sent NBC the bill for my families entire dinner.

Hells Kitchen to me is a show I can watch on occasion. Its something I don't really follow. Its funny as hell when I watch it though. I remember the girls lost and they were cleaning up. here Head Chef came in with a cake. Threw it to the ground and said "******* Eat This" and left. Funneist. Moment. Ever.

I'm looking forward to Big Brother All Stars but I haven't caught any episodes yet. I started watching from season 2 on. Dr. Will was by far the best winner of any season. He ended it in such a way that only he could be the winner & he was able to relish it on camera. I'm curious to see how contestants like Danielle & Alison do considering they need weak minded people to control. Seeing the website both are nominated so it looks like one will be gone quite early.

Seems a pretty extreme reaction to a drag queen.
I can't say I'm terribly interested in any of these. I love reality TV, mind you. Give me more Top Chef, America's Next Top Model, Project Runway, The Deadliest Catch, Miami Ink, Surreal Life, or something like that. Even Trading Spouses, for Pete's sake.
I hate American Idol, and I hate Regis Philbin, so I'm pretty sure America's Got Talent! is right out. Rock Star sucked last season, so I'm not really keen on season two there. Pretty much anything that involves singing, dancing, or ice skating is guaranteed to be crap, as is almost any reality show on a major network.

I know, but you have to stop and watch a train wreck don't you?
I almost forgot that "The Contender season 2" starts July 18th on ESPN. Punches to the face... Now that's reality TV!

Rubbernecking being what is, yes.
I forgot "The Contender". Wish the network had, too.

I am enjoying Treasure Hunters more than I liked the Amazing Race. I stopped watching tAR after the second season because each team seemed to always end up bunched together at various points, and it was actually more about being consistent then a race. I don't know if tAR had changed since then, but I feel that Treasure Hunters is more of a race and thus, better to watch. I am hoping that TH continues to be a race as the number of teams dwindles down.

I am also enjoying Rockstar: Supernova just as much as I liked Rockstar: INXS. In fact, I hope to enjoy it better because one of the female singers has a chance to win, unlike last season when you knew that INXS would not choose a female lead (I was pulling for Suzie.)

I did look at "Treasure Hunters" last night and if I was the parent of that whining female, infanticide would ensue. I couldn't believe that guy's patience.
