Anyone else love The Venture Brothers? It's an awesome cartoon on Adult Swim. The pilot appeared in 2003. Season 1 was in 2004 and Season 2 just started in June of this year. I just started watching the show a few months ago myself. The show is so funny. I just got Season 1 on DVD. It's like Johnny Quest meets The Hardy Boys meets Scooby Doo. Check the show out. The next new episode is coming soon.

I love this show,as you can tell by my signature. I loved the bit in last night's episode about how young Rusty thought the Herculoids were hippies becuase they didn't fight in Vietnam.

The Venture Brothers may very well be the best show on TV right now. I've been watching it since Season One was on the first time around (well, actually, I caught the pilot when it first aired, but the pilot's not in continuity).

Last week's episode was easily one of the top 5 best episodes of the series, and by far the best one in Season 2. Even though they killed him, they need a return of the Grand Galactic Inquisitor- IGNORE ME!!!! laugh

"Damnit, i thought I was done with this crappy dreams."
"THAT WAS A WEIRD ONE!
"Great, you can read my thoughts too?"
"IGNORE ME!!!..........BUT, YES, I CAN."

It was awesome to hav Stephen Colbert reprise Mr. Impossible too.

"Richard! What could be more important than YOUR FAMILY?!"
"....sssssscience...?"

>>(well, actually, I caught the pilot when it first aired, but the pilot's not in continuity)<<

The pilot's not part of continuity? I mean, other than the early design of The Monarch? It even tied into the whole fetal dreams subplot that ran throughout season 1.

Kill him. Kill him now. wink

Adult Swim is a sort of channel-within-a-channel of Cartoon Network, started about 4-5 years ago. Basicly starts at 10 or 11 PM and contains content geared towards 14 and older ("all kids out of the pool" was the original tag line, thus the concept's name).

Originally it started off as being on Sundays and Saturdays only- Sat was for action, mostly anime content. Sun was the main one aimed at comedy and it eventually expanded to 6 days a week (no fridays, but they now have the "friday fix" which has shows online for viewing), primarily containing shows by Williams Street (of Space Ghost Coast to Coast fame), but eventually brought Futurama and Family Guy (and now American Dad) reruns into the lineup. Adult Swim is probably the largest factor in the uncancellation of Family Guy and the upcoming pseduo-return of Futurama, as the reruns helped push the DVD releases.

Adult Swim's most prominent original shows have been Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, Home Movies, Robot Chicken, Space Ghost Coast to Coast and The Venture Bros, though other shows like The Brak Show, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Moral Orel & Tom Goes to the Mayor are also noteworthy.

I recognize some of those shows. But I hate "The Family Guy" and Adult Swim has a lot to answer for. tongue (Love "Futurama", however)

Anybody see Sunday's episode? It was part one of a two-part season finale, and what a cliffhanger! The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend where going to get married, with Doc,Brock,Hank and Dean in attendence when the Phanton Limb showed up and surrounded the Monarch's cocoon lair with missle-laden helicopters when he made his ultimatum: Give me Dr. Girlfriend or everybody in the cocoon dies!

He goes to kill the Monarch, even after The Guild of Clamitous Intent told him not to. Bitter much? Can't wait to see how this is resolved.

You forgot to mention the sidestory with Dr Morpheus's Triad group, and how they summoned a Sullustan from a trading card. laugh

Forgot about that. Also loved the part where Dr. Venture realizied Dr. Girlfriend was the woman who seduced him (and turned him into a catepillar) back in Season One and then recited part of Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl",and The Monarch calls him out on that.
