I loved Brock going after the random bad guy in the background begging to stop- and how he just snaps the antennae off the car to whip him with.

Is there another day of the week that Adult Swim shows the reruns? I missed the third season's second episode, but saw the first one.

I want to be a Venchman. The Dr. Henry Killinger shirt is awesome.
Although, seeing how it's American Apparel who's putting these out, you might think twice about ever getting it. I can easily wear a small, but you've got to have serious manorexia to pull it off. You know...not eat, and do a lot of drugs.
I wholeheartedly support Killinger, and it was great to see the Black Magic Murder Bag use its powers to kill. You know, like you think it would.
JediOverlord posted: "He wears an awful lot of purple for a white guy."
"What if his name is a killing word?"
"Kill them all! God will sort out his own!"
Some of my favorite lines from the VB premiere.
Manosaur!
"You have Puerto Rican Department?"
"...Shaking them like a nanny possessed!"
"Are you OK, Hank?"
(Covered in blood, impaled on his own spear:) "Yeah, I cut my tongue on my mask."

OMG, I watched this week's episode on Adult Swim's website, and not to give anything away, but it's a must-see, if for just a parody of a certain '80s cartoon of a real American hero.

SAMSON KODOKAN BLOOD JUDO!
Too bad you can only get that shirt after shelling out $250 for a subscription.
Lighter on the funny this week, (to me, anyway), but I like that all the wacky **** that goes down in the modern day has a basis in a kind of bizarre in-show history. It's not just a random assortment of gags and shock humor.
I have a feeling that a big chunk of this season is going to be covering backstories and origins, and I don't have a problem with that at all, because apparently the genuine reasons behind things are a hell of a lot crazier than I would have thought.
I loved the brief Race Bannon cameo, and I think the O.S.I. guy who reassigns Brock at the end of the episode is Sergeant Hatred. The G.I. Joe/O.S.I. intro was even more glorious in its entirety with all the music and everything. YO.S.I!
There's a certain sad, pathetic nature to all the characters that makes the humor feel much more well-earned.

Radom thoughts, quotes, and musings about this week's episode:
"The nozzle....is calibrating."
I never thought that Billy would've lost his hand and eye to a dog.
"Barkeep, another Suffering Bastard."
"I'm already looking at him."
"Oh, ha, ha."
Man, a flying Sphinx-shaped battle fortress would've been an awesome G.I. Joe toy.
Was it just me, or did Billy look cute all cuddled up and sleeping inside that duffel bag when Brock gave him to Pete White?
It's funny how this episode ties back to "Victor Echo November".

Any episode with a Hunter S. Thompson...er, Hunter Gathers...appearance is fine by me: "I wish I was born with big, beautiful t*ts!" You know what I just noticed? the explosion from "Shadowman 9" with the Monarch is the Phantom Limb explosion.
What origin do you think they will reveal next? Brock's first day as Rusty's bodyguard? Perhaps Myra's first day as Rusty's bodyguard? The original Order of the Triad?
One thing I'm still hoping will play out is Triana's friend Kim becoming a super-villain.
Also, some ***hole posted this on David Poland's blog the other day:
***hole posted: "Stumbling in the dark is one thing, but they don't have a clue? Smacks of divine intervention, or a nonchalance on the part of the creative crew.
"I detected the same vibe when I was listening to the commentary track on the Venture Bros. DVD, when one of the creators mentioned the mystery over who the mother of the boys might be. Then they both laughed, snorting, 'Who cares?' Well, uh, some of us do. We care that there's an elephant standing in the middle of the room, and you don't seem interested in even acknowledging its existence.
So I dropped the Venture Bros. like a bad habit as a result of that insult."
For God's sakes...this show is not ****ing LOST.
Also, for a goofball pop-culture parody comedy, the character development and writing is magnificent. What more could you ask for from a show like this? Do they really need everything spelled out for them?

So true.
That guy didn't seem to get that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer talk about anything but the show on the Venture Brothers DVD commentaries.
Once you get past that, everything else is gravy.

At first I thought the teacher was a young Dr. Orpheus and the schoolgirl was Triana's mom (well, before she spoke, obviously).

Are you talking about the one during the Monarch's college years? Can't be the same- that one was during the day (and clearly shown to be the Monarch's work to kill Venture), while the Phantom explosion was at night.
Also it doesn't seem like this whole season will be backstory episodes.
Jackson Publicks blog posted:
I won't spoil it or anything for those of you who'd rather wait until it's on TV Sunday night, but "The Invisible Hand of Fate" was the first episode to be written and produced for season 3, mainly because I originally planned to write it as the penultimate episode of season 2...before the finale got away from us and turned into a two-parter. Given some of the secret histories revealed within, you can well imagine why I would have wanted to shed some light on these particular characters before launching into the finale story. But it was worth the wait, I think. For the record, I wouldn't have aired this one third in an ideal world, but production deadlines forced our invisible hand. While I'm quite proud of the episode, I worry that throwing another secondary character/flashback-heavy episode at you guys so soon after our Monarch-centric premiere could be a bit confusing--or, worse yet, kind of disappointing--and the episode mightn't get judged fairly on its own merits. But whatever...hopefully you're all into it. And if you're not, there's always next week's episode, "Home Is Where The Hate Is," which is a super-hot Doc & Jackson joint script (and, for no particular reason, probably the most beautifully animated episode of The Venture Bros. ever) and would have aired third if not for the fact that we're still mixing it!

Before Quest posted this, I was disappointed with another flashback story so soon into the new season.
