Why not? It's related to the film, and virtually every other movie talked about in here has discussions that go beyond the scope of the trailer, within reason.

WTH?
That's weird, I don't understand why they would edit out something like that. I mean, this is going to be PG-13 right?
The MPAA are a group of the grandest, most hypocritical band of outright morons on the planet. Remember, we're talking about the same group that initially didn't allow the X-Men trailer to show Cyclops shooting a laser out of his visor, while simultaneously having no problem with TPM's trailer showing people shooting lasers out of guns.
Guess they were just too worried that kids might get the wrong idea and go to school the next day and shoot a classmate with their eye lasers.

Leto II posted: Who says it's going to be kept a secret, though? Matter of fact, if ABC News is already reporting it, it looks like there wasn't even any Lucasfilm embargo on it to begin with. It's already out there.
At this point, it's still considered a rumor and that's the reason the spoiler header is up in the Indy IV forum. ABC may have gotten an inside source, or they may have gotten their information crossed. Whatever the reason, Lucasfilm has failed to make the announcement. Now, that could mean any number of things but just to be on the safe side, we're keeping it labeled as a spoiler for now.
Anyway, back on topic, the trailer absolutely blew me away! I haven't been this excited over a film in a long time! In fact, I think I'm more excited about seeing Indy IV than I ever was with AOTC and ROTS.

Certainly I don't really wish to see another trailer. I don't want to see more plot until I see the movie.

I saw the trailer again, this time on the big screen, and I have to say it loses a lot in translation to a computer monitor. Some trailers it doesn't make all that much difference. But seeing this one in the theater got me far more excited for it than watching it on the internet did.

Can't wait for this movie. Blanchett is probably going to be a great villain.
Actually, I think this is a new type of scenario and line: a joke about old man Indy's poor eyesight and depth perception. Along with the 'not as easy as it used to be' line there promises to be lots of geriatric gags in this one.

The reason the trailer was edited in North America is because the MPAA doesn't allow one character to point a gun at another character in a green-band trailer. The finished version will not be edited like that and the guns should be put back in.
AICN has links to HD versions of the international trailer here.

Yeah, but Indy hasn't ever been a Superman-type character and screws up from time to time. Seems a natural extension of that.
