I haven't seen much buzz about this show, but I'm really looking forward to it.
From TV Guide
tvguide posted: Premise: This drama delves into the lives of ordinary people, from all over the world, who gain superpowers, including a young dreamer who believes he can fly, a high-school cheerleader who's indestructible and a heroin-addicted artist who can paint the future.
It looks like my kind of show. The pilot airs on Monday.

I would say its one of the most talked about shows of the year so far.
The pilot was on Yahoo and you could download it from iTunes with a code from your local theater. NBC is definatly putting their weight behind it. I just hope it ends up better then Invasion

When the hell are they going to make "Gotham Central"? It makes so much sense.

It sounds like sustaining it might be very difficult.

Not anymore so then any of the other serial dramas on TV today. 5 Years ago if you told anyone that a serial drama about a bunch of people stuck on a Island would be going strong after 3 years they would of just laughed at you.

Heroes is the only new show I'm watching this year, and I've been waiting for it since last spring.

I'm looking quite forward to Heroes. I've been following it since news first sprung up. It's the new series I'm most excited about this fall. It has alot behind it, such as a great team of writers and directors, along with an amazing cast.
If anything this show will truly be epic in every way.

Really? I think it has unlimited potential. Although, all I really ask of a show is 3-5 good seasons.
But, like Weezer said, it's no more difficult to sustain than about a zillion other shows. But I don't even think it goes in the same category as Lost, 24, Prison Break, Kidnapped, and other modern serialized drama. Because it's a concept you could take a zillion different directions. Like I said above, unlimited potential. You're not limited by one mystery or one location or a weird timeline.

I cannot believe how amazing this series is. Truly a spectacular accomplishment. The ending leaves you WANTING to know what happens next, and that's perfect for a weekly show. Heroes has been a great setup since the beginning, but it was laid out so well during the actual premiere. The characters are great, and seem to be intriguing and make you want to know more.
We've already got a nice peek at what's to come, so this will be an exciting show. Volume One has just begun.

Re-post of myself:
I liked it, but I worry that'll it get buried beneath the sheer tonnage of serialized dramas starting up this season. The public can only hold a finite number of multi-season plotlines in their minds at a time.
I think the interconnected lives of the characters is a rip-off of Lost, but that's just one man's opinion.

Personally I enjoyed this opening more than I did of Lost. But then, everything rips off everything.

I really, really liked the premier. This show has the potential for being either really good or really bad, depending on whether the writers have an actual plan laid out, like in Lost. If they're just winging it though, like Chris Carter did the last 5 seasons of X-Files, then it could turn out just as bad.
