I think it's not that big a deal and definitely NOT a controversy. Let the conservative nutjobs who have issue with this rant and rave. Storm in a teakettle if you ask me.

What, you don't think the greatest wizard of his era has worked out a "viagra spell"?

The incantation is 'Expectu Tabonum!'.

See Harry Potter and the Mid-Life Crisis. Fair warning: Some might find content offensive or inappropriate, and there's brief non-TOS friendly language.

Seems to me like Harry's still a marked man regarding the Elder Wand. He broadcast his ownership of the wand to all in the Great Hall. He's still a target, most especially when he's still young and still learning. He can still be bested. Even Dumbledore couldn't ensure he died a natural death unbeaten. Something unexpected can still happen. What Harry should do is go off somewhere with Hermione, swear her to tell no one about it, even Ron, and see if she can best him. The wand would transfer ownership to her though only Harry and Hermione would know about it. Hermione clearly doesn't fancy being handed such power so if she bested Harry, she would not boast about it. Then, if someone later bested Harry, the wand wouldn't be transferred. And if Hermione was ever bested by Ron or anyone else the degrees of separation between wand and true owner would only grow.

It would still leave him a target, though, even if it is ingenious.

And Hermione would be likely to start using the wand. Even Dumbledore couldn't resist.

She might be one of the few safe owners. Ron, however, would not.

Which is why I was a bit surprised he became an Auror, I would have thought that would be the last thing he would do given the need to stay "undefeated" -- get a job where you're basically dueling all the time.

That is kind of odd.
Have you heard that Rowling actually wrote a version of "The Tales of Beedle the Bard". There are only 7 copies, one of which will be auctioned for charity.

I saw that. Kind of cool. She and her publisher are also suing the creators of a companion book called the Harry Potter Lexicon (from the same people as the website?) that is to be released. That's not cool.
Lastly, she updated her website, so that you now can see all the wizard's of the month, and use a time turner to go back to different versions of the room of requirement.

Yes, Zaz, he will always be a target even if he does it. I should have clarified by saying that if he intends to keep the wand from passing on, that he should resort to some sleight of hand.
Hammurabi posted: And Hermione would be likely to start using the wand. Even Dumbledore couldn't resist.
I think Hermione is actually someone who would not use it. She had a very strong reaction against using it. She may be a bossy know-it-all who relishes being the best at things, however she's also stubborn and set in her ways, so she's likely set against the Elder Wand and would not be tempted to use it.
