46. Quentin Tarantino's acting career.

Great director. Crap actor. Even worse American Idol judge.

I don't know if I would describe his acting career as one of the 50 Biggest Hollywood Disasters...a minor one at best.

From Dusk Til Dawn and Pulp Fiction are the ones I've seen him in.

He's mainly there to make the other actors look better. tongue

I liked him in Desperado.

Mainly because he's supposed to be a twitchy neurotic.

The bat nipples were pretty bad but I'd consider the entire Batman and Robin movie a disaster.

As for Tarantino's acting career, I'd say this wasn't really a disaster at all and wonder why it's even on the list. I just assumed he liked playing bit parts that involved people with paranoias or complexes. He didn't do a bad job playing them either. So I don't really get this. I mean I can think of a long list of people who thought they could be actors but tremendously suck at it.

Tarantino is a pretty good actor actually, at least in his own films. He did a great job in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.

I never had a problem with Tarantino's acting. I actually liked his acting in 'Four Rooms' and 'From Dusk Till Dawn'. There have been far worse actors in film, which makes his acting skills seem strange on this list. He's no Clint Eastwood, but I don't think he's an unwatchable actor either.

Well, he's not really acting, but he is watchable.

Yeah, i mean, Tarintino himself is a character, so he's really just being himself to one degree or another.

The whole joke in Desperado probably wouldn't hav eworked as well without his neurotic self.

You hear that a lot about George Clooney too.

45.Foot in mouth disease:

A fairly rare condition in which a star or mogul loses the ability to stop self-destructive statements from leaving the mouth.

"It was the goal of these people to eliminate me . . . They wanted to kill Michael Ovitz. If they could have taken my wife and kids, they would have."—Michael Ovitz, in Vanity Fair (August 2002), talking about what he called the "Gay Mafia."

I wouldn't say that it's exactly rare, but it certainly is annoying.

I'm not sure why this would be classed as a "Hollywood Disaster" when Hollywood thrives on such gaffes. Two other examples are Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic rant and Tom Cruise's lecture on the evils of drugs for post-partum depression. They both got more publicity than just about anything else, albeit negative.

But if they mean the tendency of actors and actresses to lecture us on issues of the day; yes, it is annoying, especially as their self-righteousness is absolute.

Actors are entitled to their opinions; some of them get an inflated view of their opinion. It's okay when they keep their sense of humor; Tim Robbins I often disagree with, but he laughs about his rep, so I can take it.

But this is more a reflection of the media than of hollywood. Everyone's going to say a stupid thing now and then (some worse than others, admittedly). It's the media that catches it on tape and flogs it for weeks and weeks.
