"The G.I. Joe movie, which looks like it will have a cast larger than Roots, got some more cast rumor action this week in the form of Brendan Fraser and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who (if this isn't just a fan making it all up) may be playing "Gung Ho" and "Shipwreck", respectively. I'm not that familiar with the 80s version of G.I. Joe (I grew up on the earlier, one-make-fits-all version), but I will agree with that article's writer that "Gung Ho" does indeed have a distinct "Village People-ish" look. If Brendan Fraser actually dresses up like that, I might Tivo this one someday."

But his credentials are far worse :

I expect this movie will do just as bad or even worse than Transformers A simple diluted storyline. Sure its coming out on 2009, but there are some directors that should not be given a cameralense to do anything.

I'm going to assume that you think it will be as bad a movie as a lot of people say Transformers was, and not how well it did financially. Because, it made almost three quarters of a billion dollars worldwide, securing a tidy profit of almost 600 million dollars. If G.I. Joe can pull off half of that, it will be a mega success.

ASG relying on financial for films success does not make a good film
I am very critica, which brings me to this that I do not have any confidence on Sommers directing.
AS for transformers I thought there room for improvemnet even for transformer fan.
