Does anyone have any troubles with Netflix. Not the service itself, which is awesome. But the DVD's themselves. Do you have trouble playing them at all? And any theories as to why.

So far, in the past 3 weeks, I've had no problems with Netflix DVDs. The real theory for it would be previous renters who do not know how to handle DVDs.

Last year I had two DVD's in a row show up broken; not just scratched, mind you, but actually broken (one was broken in half). I just reported the damage on their website, sent the discs back and got replacements that were fine. I don't hold it against Netflix.

I have never had an issue with a Netflix DVD not playing. Never had one broken and they were never scratched enough to cause a problem.

I feel ever so sad for you, Zaz. Whereabouts in America's Red-headed-stephchild-land do you live? 
I did have one concern when they didn't update my queue because they were slow in scanning "An Inconvenient Truth" by a couple days, but that was fixed right after I reported it.

I love netflix!! I have however had a few DVD's come in scratched or unable to play, and I just send them an email and they send a new one while I send the other back. One time I even had a DVD that I was sending back get lost, they never received it. I explained what happenned and they were great about it.

Doesn't the West Coast allow certain, shall we say, green buds legally? Or am I just hoping that's so beacuse I need a quick exit if Hilary Clinton becomes President of the US?
Netflix is like a friendlier version of Blockbuster, but a mail-in Blockbuster.

I do the Blockbuster.com one. I've never had any problem with it and I like all the free in-store movie and/or game rental coupons that come with it. I actually use my online queue mainly to catch up on old wrestling or UFC stuff, and if I actually wanna see a movie I use coupons and just go to the store.

Having used both, I prefer blockbuster.com. More for your money, plus the in-store rental option is wonderfully convenient.

I would never use the stuff Blockbuster offers as "in addition" to Netflix service. Netflix works great for me.
