Zaz posted: Connery, without being a great actor or anything, is the best thing about most of his movies.
A friend of mine thought Connery was the man to be as you get older. He said that if he was half as cool now as Connery still is in his old age, then he'd be a whore.

I would have to say Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 3. The only thing that saved that movie was Jack Sparrows presence.

Seriously folks, despite the epic box office gross, this is hardly a classic. I prefer Begins.
Heath turns in a good performance - a lot better than Bale, whose Bruce Wayne is spot on but alters his voice in a weird way as Batman.
Bruce always "alters his voice in a weird way" when he's in the suit. For proof, go watch Batman, Batman Returns, and Batman: The Animated Series.

Whew. I got all the way to the fifth page, and thought I would have to be the first one to mention The Dark Knight. Although I think it's Gary Oldman in both this and Batman begins who gives the great performance in a terrible film.

YES! I'm so happy to see that someone else agrees that POA stunk. I think it's the weakest of the HP films.

Larry Olivier in...most of his late career. I'll single out The Boys from Brazil though, even though the film is just plain trashy, not inherently awful.

Seconding it. The Machinist is a mess of a film and I'm really surprised that Bale's performance in it is so good. The character is terribly written and largely unlikeable. Part of me was in awe of Bale's weight loss that I might have been kinder to him than nessecary

Before it can be classified as a bad movie, someone actually has to see it.

Bad is a point of view but I'll agree there, you can't judge a movie or a performance before you see it

best performance in a bad movie? That'd be a tie between Ewan McGregor and Christopher Lee in Attack of the Clones. Should I explain? didn't think so.

I'm gonna second just because I think you have balls for saying it. I'm also gonna say that Aaron Eckhart's performance would've been totally epic, and easily matched Legder's, were it not for the CGI covering half of his face in the crucial scenes. The most intense scene of TDK is not anything with the Joker, but the bit where Dent's rounded up a goon and is flipping the coin and interrogating him.
TDK is not a bad movie. But it's very mildly overrated and Ledger and Eckhart are better than the film itself.
