On Topic: One of my instructors pointed out that there is apparently a connection to Slusho(supposedly some reference to Alias...dunno, never saw the show), and a quick google search of "Slusho" seems to indicate that he is not the only one to make the connection. Supposedly the premise for the film is hinted at within the History section of the website. Slashfilm.com has apparently "confirmed" it.

where did that second pic come from? i watched the whole trailer frame by frame looking for clues and found nothing that hadn't already been out , like the slusho website...
NY1 news is a real normal news station btw.
The Slusho website does have some interesting Japanese style writing, the History section talks about how it contains a secret ingredient from the deep sea, sounds like Godzilla, Gamera, or Cthulu.

A lot of people are saying that Cloverfield has something to do with ethanhaaswasright and ethanhaaswaswrong. There's no official link yet though.
I'll be let down if it's Godzilla. I probably wouldn't even see it.
