First teaser poster:
Apparently there will be 3 teaser posters, leading up to the big reveal of the title. The first poser (above) is MONSTROUS followed by BARBAROUS and then FEROCIOUS.

JJ Abrams' very quick statement on the film from Comic Con:
“I want a monster movie, I've wanted one for so long. I was in Japan with my son and all he wanted to do is go to toy stores. And we saw all these Godzilla toys, and I thought, we need our own monster, and not King Kong, King Kong's adorable. I wanted something that was just insane and intense. It's almost done shooting and I watch dailies and I'm more excited for them than the trailer, which has had an overwhelming response. We have 6 months before this comes out. We're going to have a whole bunch of things, a whole bunch more."
He said a full trailer, more clips, full posters, and much more will be coming out over the next 6 months, including the name, which he will NOT reveal today.
“You think we'd call it Monstrous? No…"
So, the film is NOT a Godzilla movie, it is an original monster movie, and it is NOT called Monstrous!

I noticed on the slusho site, in the history section that there is a squid, a fish, and a horse(unicorn?), each have a picture over their heads when you click on them.
The horse has an oven mit, the squid has a hammer, and the fish has a slice of swiss cheese.
Any ideas?

noticed the on slushozoom tHere is a picture with the dAte 1868.
a quick google Search Turns up that the Elks were foRmed in 1868.
clearly, the city is being attacked by a giant elk..or the local lodge forgot it's 11th hour toast.
also there was an earthquake in san francisco.
gah these games really bring out the apophenia.

I'll be gutted when this film doesn't live up to Ethan Haas, that website everyone thought it was to do with for five minutes.
Monster Movie + cult/prophesy = funky, but JJ practically admitted that he's making a generic monster movie.

If you click on the photos and shake your mouse back and forth, they'll flip over. Additionally, on the back of the latest photo there is a message "Robbie, here use this photo to send a message of my hotness far and wide!!! Love Jamie". Take note of the smudged "and" & "w" on wide. Also take note of the names on the top right hand corner "Lascano, Platt and Robbie - Jan 2008". The only whole name we get out of this is Jamie Lascano. You can find a profile of Jamie Lascano on MySpace.com. Her pals appear to be a number of New Yorkers including a "Rob" our main dude. Check Rob's profile, he is into marketing, something that savvy sleuths on Cloverfield Project had surmised at the begin. Might be interesting to subscribe to all of their blogs. Perhaps some more clues.
Also, on the back of an older photo at www.1-18-08.com is another written message "Don't forget who takes care of you, J".
I am sure there is a clue in there somewhere.

There's a difference though- Snakes on a Plane was mainly an internet phenomona, whereas this movie's interest was created the old fashioned way with a theatrical teaser trailer put in front of one of the year's biggest movies, which quickly spread to regular media. It's more "water cooler" discusison material in that way.
