I'm definitely seeing this. I know Abrams isn't directing, but just because his name is attached, I don't think they can go wrong.

We've seen nothing thus far to support that idea.

I can't imagine the monster will live up to the hype. Honestly, how cool/innovative/scary can one monster be? The new trailer just reminds me of the Godzilla movie a few years back. A dash of Blair Witch thrown in, sure, but nothing special.

Yeah, that's really what I want to see in a poster. An image that reminds me of the Twin Towers being brought down.

I don't think the poster was deliberately to look like 9/11. Until you mentioned it, when I looked at the poster I just thought it looked like a kick ass monster movie.
Why is everyone naysaying all of sudden? More movies should market like this. It's nice for a change in pace, and this looks like a fun, thrilling, unpretentious monster movie. And J.J. Abrams' track record as a producer alone has me sold.

I'm not saying they did it deliberately, I have no way of knowing. But when I see buildings with smoke coming out of them in LOWER MANHATTAN, it's not a big leap to think of 9/11.

It's been six years, I think Hollywood can safely make a monster movie in NYC.

Has anyone heard any of the talk about the odd connections between Heroes and Cloverfield? Apparently a viral site for Cloverfield confirmed to be official keeps making reference to a name that has come up multiple times in Heroes.

I'd guess that's probably at most just an in-joke, an Easter Egg of sorts. I very seriously doubt there will be any real narrative connection between the two.
