most of the connection stuff i believe has to do with a few names etc.
Like the scene in Alias with Slusho
It seems that Slusho production may be directly related to the monster, or just a way for JJ Abrams to confuse the heck out of us.
the clue chasing sites like Cloverfieldnews.com etc. seem to keep track of all of this crazyness, the Characters even have myspace pages.

But in the end, these websites don't mean anything. The film is what matters.

exactly, I hope Mr. Abrams hasn't forgotten that, The videos on www.jamielovesteddy.com have been interesting, this whole evil corporation putting something in slusho and maybe finding the monster "thing" might make a good miniseries but i don't see how it's going to be in the film that's supposed to be from the view point of a small group of friends.
A great movie can stand on it's own and tell a story, I hope that's what we get.

update,
Rob's myspace now says that he got a job in Japan working for slusho
Jamielovesteddy.com now has a new video of Jamie eating the stuff that she's not supposed to eat..
*edit, okay TWO new videos now she's dancing or something I haven't watched it yet they just put it up on cloverfieldnews.com
there are fake newscasts showing the collapse of the oil rig off the East coast of the united states, the event
is believed to be linked to Teddy's disapearance, this was not caused by the environmental terrorists but by the monster!Look closely at the vid and you can see that there are security men in baclavas carrying weapons with laser pointers, and one man is carrying a briefcase handcuffed to himself... rig collapse
9 days to go...
I think the splatter-bucket gore of having monsters spawn out of people like in Alien is a little too much for me, but somehow I can't seem to forget about this movie.

Looking at that video SweetPea linked, at about 42 seconds, doesn't it look like something it being shot from the oil rig, like a torpedo or something?

"Has 'Cloverfield' Jumped the Shark?
Nope! Buzz on the Upcoming Movie Stays Strong"
By Mike Krumboltz
Thu, January 10, 2008, 3:24 pm PST
"The moment the first "Cloverfield" trailer hit theaters, buzz on the film roared to life. But that was months ago, and searchers are a fickle sort. Is the flick, which opens next week, still making noise in Search?
In a word, absolutely. Some folks (us included) thought "Cloverfield" might suffer from "Snakes on a Plane" fatigue due to too much pre-release hype. Just the opposite is true. Fans have continued to search on the J.J. Abrams film with increasing intensity. "Cloverfield" is among our top 500 terms and related searches on "cloverfield spoilers," "cloverfield clues," and "what is cloverfield" are also scaring up monster-sized numbers.
Those searches serve as a testament to the film's ability to keep fans caring... and guessing. So far, all we know of the plot is that a creature that has little respect for the Statue of Liberty goes wild in the Big Apple. Judging by the impressive searches, the less we know, the bigger the buzz."

The cool thing about the Rig video is that you can see the guards firing into the water.

Summarize the review. Is it good or bad? I do not want to be spoiled.
