Anyone else been catching this 8-bit animation on G4? Saw the first two episodes about Woz selling the company to a rich texan ("You rule, Woz!") and the creation of the E.T. video game and really loved it- I'm actually surprised it's not on Adult Swim. Good mix of absurdist humor and 8-bit references (loved the Mega Man spikes/death scene).

The "E.T" episode so much funnier if you know the story behind the Atari 2600 E.T. game (It was churned out in six weeks to make it out in stores in time for Christmas,and it was so bad millions of cartridges were returned and sent to a landfill in New Mexico).
Finally, a show on G4 I'll actually watch.

Yeah, i knew about the backstory to the ET game- reminds me of the original backstory for the Mooninites that was almost sued for them on Aqua Teen Hunger Force- that one of the legendary mass-graves dug to bury all the extar ET Atari game karts was under the Aqua Teen's house, and the Mooninities were actually video ghosts from that mass-grave (which is why the Mooninites look like Atari graphics). Unused obviously, but still funny.

Actually, I think Bellecovision is meant to be a stab at Atari under the reign of Ray Kassar,a guy who was so unpleasant to game developers (he once referred to them as "prima donnas" when they wanted creator acknowledgment on games,compared them to towel designers,having previously worked in the garment industry,and basically making things such at Atari that developers left to form companies like Activison).
At least,I think it is.

Anybody catching the new episodes? The new one that G4 showed last night, "My Pal Jodie", was rather clever in the pop-culture reference department, by portraying attorney Melvin Belli as the alien character he played on the original Star Trek series.
Also, the first season is due to be released on DVD in August.
