Pretty excited about this one. The premise is a bit weird, but I think it'll work, especially with actors like Bale, Blanchett, and Ledger on board.

The premise is indeed weird, but since I like to encourage things that are not 1)slasher flicks; 2) dumb gross-out comedies; or 3)Oscar bait movies, I will try to see it. Can't see it opening at the local multi-plex, however.

Speaking of Oscars, I wouldn't be surprised if someone from this got a nom. Be it Bale, Blanchett (she'll get a nom for the Golden Age anyway), Gere, etc. It looks to be a well acted flick (though the trailer focused a bit too much on Blanchett's masculinity).

You can torrent it...
It really is an amazing film. I must admit I don't know much about Dylan's life, but that didn't keep me from enjoying it. I like films that don't follow the usual formula. Oh, and the little sequence with the Beatles and the fans chasing them was hilarious. 
Cate Blanchett was, of course, marvellous.

I don't know how much of this you can draw off to find out what Dylan's life was like. To some extent yes, but I imagined that the movie is basically telling you that you CAN'T know a person.

I gathered that much from the film, but the main characters were all obviously based on Dylan, so there must've been bits from his life in the film. They didn't just create characters that looked like him and put them in a different life...

Oh, I don't mean to say that it isn't similar - I think you could probably consider this a sort of biotopic of his life. It's just very confusing at point.
