27. REGIS PHILBIN
A tribute by Kelly Ripa: ''What separates Regis from the rest of the pack is his relevance and timelessness in all facets of entertainment: We have Don Rickles come on [Live With Regis and Kelly] and the two of them have a conversation that is sort of frozen in time about Dean Martin and nights at the Copacabana. Then we'll have Kanye West come on and talk about the Grammys last year, and it's seamless. I can guarantee you what he'll say when this comes out: ''An icon? For what?'' He downplays his own importance, but it's really well-deserved. He's made it look easy for a long time.
Theres only one thing that can be said here:
Is that your final answer?

Important figure in the history of television, he may be, but I can't stand the guy.

He was the inevitable inclusion on this list. When you think of television, Regis Philbin will always come to your mind sooner or later. His entire public existence is staked on television. It seems to me like television and Regis have merged, at least in the US.

26. FARRAH FAWCETT
She lasted just one season on Charlie's Angels. But her style? Eternal. Allen Edwards, the man behind her mane, tells us how to get the Farrah flip: (1) Ask your stylist for long layers, beginning below the bridge of the nose. (2) Wash and blow-dry hair, removing 80 percent of moisture. (3) With medium-size round brush and blow-dryer, curl ends of hair. (4) Set with hairspray. Turn head upside down, flip up, run fingers through hair. Preferably in slow motion.
25. HEATHER LOCKLEAR
If playing a likable bitch is an art, then Locklear is TV's Sistine Chapel. But prettier. Her California-girl looks may have caught Aaron Spelling's eye, but it was the actress underneath who made her the producer's go-to player in the '80s (see: Dynasty's Sammy Jo; T.J. Hooker's Stacy). So when Melrose Place needed a jolt of charisma, Spelling knew who to call: As blond ballbuster Amanda, Locklear not only saved the show, she became prime time's most sought-after problem solver (see: her next gig, Spin City).
I disagree with both of them being on this list, especially on top of Bob Barker...

I wouldn't watch "Spin City" if I lived in downtown New York City.

You've never heard of Farah Fawcett?
It think it's a sign of how much an icon she is that she was only on Charlie's Angels for one season, and yet when you think of the show, she's the first thing that comes to mind.
