My thoughts exactly.
*ahem* i think it reflects how they regard love, actually. they think they can switch it on and off. not the writer's fault, i find.

Akiva Goldsman baffles me... how can one guy write A Beautiful Mind and Batman and Robin. I mean, I worked for him and it didn't become any more clear to me... I think some of his stuff is brilliant. But the comic film is not his strength, I think it's fair to say.
The2ndQuest posted: The sand line is shakespeare compared to the dialogue of fireplace and love pledge scenes. Though awkward, at least there's a logical sense to the line from Anakin's POV and the context it's being delivered in. On the flipside, you can;t decide to fall in love or not, so right away that line has shakier ground to stand upon.
I really don't mind the sand line. It sounds like a cheesy teenager line. Plus, that is an accurate description of sand. I think the same thing, really.

"So one day Woody Allen thought to himself..."I'll just make a movie out of a few one-liners I've thought of in my spare time....and I'll call it 'Scoop.'" But the line that makes me wanna throw stuff is when Woody and Scarlett Johansson are trying to solve a mystery or whatnot...and Woody says...."we need to put our heads together"...and scarlett replies...."If you put our heads together you'd hear a hollow noise." You can tell everybody who made the movie thought it would be hilarious....but in reality everybody watching the movie kept wondering why Scarlett was doing a Woody Allen impression through out the whole movie..."
All Woody's current movies sound like that.

From EW: "Michael KM Wed, Feb 6, 2008 at 05:49 PM EST
In "The Rock," right before Nicholas Cage is about to shoot a rocket at one of the evil soldiers, Cage asks him if he knows Elton John's "Rocket Man" and says, "That's you. You're the Rocket Man." Worst. Action Movie Line. Ever. (and I know that's saying a lot)"

I didn't find the line that bad- with Cage's character's multiple references to older music, combined with Cage's delivery, it actually works ok- it's not a classic by any means, nor a highlight of the film (there's a dozen better lines), but it's hardly terrible.

I can't be trusted, because Cage's delivery always amuses the hell out of me.

Next: "No one puts Baby in a corner"
The problem with this, IMO, is that it doesn't sound like something a guy would say...

It is something a man would say though.

Actually, it strikes me as something The Fonz would say- so it fits with Swayze's character's (chessily portrayed) badboy image.

Swayze has a way of delivering bad lines in good movies.

I watched Red Dawn for the first time last week, and this line popped into my head every time Swayze and Grey were on screen together. Especially, for some reason, after she gets shot and he puts a live grenade in her hand.
