I didn't think that line was particularly horrid, but I did find it awkward: Simon's gay, and Carol's straight. Was the viewer supposed to think that Carol had what it took to turn him on?

THE MOVIE: Four Wedding and a Funeral (1994)
THE SCENE: After a whole movie of romantic comedy-related obstacles, Carrie (Andie MacDowell) ignores the weather as she finally hooks up with Charles (Hugh Grant).
THE LINE: ''Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed.''
A lot of these lines are included not because they're bad but because they are said by actors and actresses that can't carry them off.

4 weddings is one of my favorite movies, but in spite of that last scene. It's not just that line, it's the whole exchange, it's just too forced.

THE MOVIE: Dirty Dancing (1986)
THE SCENE: Finally invited to the ''big kids' dance party,'' Frances ''Baby'' Houseman arrives with an awkward present.
THE LINE: ''I carried a watermelon.''
Huh?

This is the line they pick from Dirty Dancing? Of all the choices in this movie, this is the line they choose? If I remember, its really not that bad. I mean, she's standing there, surrounded by a bunch of sweaty dancers who are grinding pretty good on each other, she's feeling very uncomfortable and she's holding a watermelon in both arms. It's meant for humor, and I remember it mostly succeeding.
I mean, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" is a much worse piece of dialogue then this.

What? That line was great! It was supposed to be stupid and awkward (she scolds herself for it afterwards), and she delivered it appropriately.

I agree.
"Nobody puts baby in the corner" is much worse. It's so random! And corny!

Next: THE MOVIE: City of Angels (1998)
THE SCENE: Maggie (Meg Ryan) waxes philosophically as she's in bed with Seth (Nicholas Cage), an angel who's become human.
THE LINE: ''We were made to fit together.''
And...next is EW's readers opinions of this list, their own nominations, and any nominations you want to make.

A nomination from EW: Celeste Fri, Feb 8, 2008 at 09:30 PM EST
"From "On Deadly Ground," Seagal to a man he just beat up: "What does it take to change the essence of a man?" The response: "Time...I just need more time."
And as much as I love Dirty Harry, the line following the "Do you feel lucky" monologue..."I gots to know!!"
Not only is the dialogue stupid, Seagal can't read a line and sound like a human being. It's a gift, of a kind.

Apparently not, but I think a lot of fans agree, too.
I... don't think writing romantic scenes are George's forte, even if some of the PT dialogue was 'supposed' to be forced. I mean, even in the OT, the climactic moment of admission of love between Han and Leia after they've been constantly bickering in ESB ('I know') is an ad-lib by Harrison Ford because whatever was there before apparently didn't fit.
