And that duel wasn't on the White House lawn. It was in New Jersey (right?), because dueling was illegal in New York, but not New Jersey.
I've got both eps on the DVR but haven't gotten around to watching them yet. In Treatment is taking up all my free TV time.

I've watched only two episodes and they were both very good. The scenery looks good. I don't know if it's 100% accurate though. For example, I think John Adams spoke with a lisp in real life. But it is nice watching the first steps we took in gaining our independence from England.

Is Jefferson talking in a high, effeminate voice? Because I think he had that kind of voice IRL.

In real life Jefferson didn't have a deep voice and was very soft spoken and didn't like to give public speeches. This has been accurate in the series. In the series, Jefferson doesn't like to be in the lime light and doesn't really speak up during deliberations. And even tells Adams that he doesn't like public speaking after Adams reads the Declaration of Independence and tells Jefferson that he likes what Jefferson wrote and tells him that he should speak up more because his work is good.

That is good to hear, even if I am not a Jefferson fan.

I assume they will not get into Jefferson's dodgy private life, given the Thought Police.

I think it's more that that the series is about John Adams, not Thomas Jefferson. It will be interesting to see how they handle the Adams/Jefferson conflict that emerged in the early 1800s, given how meager of a character they've established for Jefferson.

Finally watched the first two eps and have to say they are exactly as great as I expected. I really loved the music as well. The music over the opening and closing titles is especially great. The Playtone logo with the music was very reminiscent of Band of Brothers.

Yay! I got to watch the first two episodes yesterday. Very, very good. I think the casting's especially good, though unfortunately I'm not sure how sold I am on Washington. Not the acting, that's a fine portrayal of the kind of man he was purported to be. I am just not sure about him physically...
In any case, definitely good so far. I especially like the even-handed portrayal of the issue, that there were brutal things being done on both sides and it wasn't even that these men got together originally with the intention of breaking off. And Adams' sentiments were not always that way, either.
I like seeing JQA as a kid. He wasn't well suited for the Presidency, but he was a great man nonetheless and an especially good senator, specifically his tireless work on abolition.
I think the portrayal of Jefferson is particularly good, though we've not seen much of him yet. His soft voice, gentle, quiet manner. The actor also looks the part very, very much.
So yeah, looking forward to tonight's episode in half an hour

Well, in their defense, theyre only two episodes in, and Jefferson played a pretty big part in the second one, writing the Declaration and all.
