Yes, I am very curious to see how they will handle the very end of the miniseries. Adams' last words were "Thomas Jefferson survives" (or possibly just "Thomas Jefferson..."). One problem; Jefferson had died earlier in the day. If they do that chronologically, it might be confusing to some people.

John Adams
"Adams tackles that ''most insignificant office,'' vice prez. Since those are his words, you can tell how he liked it."
I think it was John Nance Garner who described the vice-presidency as 'not worth a pitcher of warm spit.'

I seem to recall reading somewhere that it was 50 year to the hour, which is VERY spooky.

Ah, I didn't think to check here.
This show's been excellent. I like the second episode the best, as it's nigh perfect in pacing and presentation. It was exciting and dramatic, and quite accurate too. Franklin, despite being overrated, was completely hilarious.
The third and fourth episodes are interesting too, with the absurdities of the European courts. Honestly, the French epicureanism was sickening.
I especially like how Adams plays the stern Roman and how he and Abigail speak to each other in Latin, which goes back to their epistulary records.
And young Nabby is absolutely adorable.
Oh? And Jefferson? That weasel is well done. Oh, how I loathe him.
Handmaiden_Yane posted: I can't wait to see Alexander Hamilton!
Hopefully he'll show up for today's episode! He was virtually prime minister during the Washington Administration, so...
EDIT: Watching today's episode... this one may be my favorite. Adams is discussing the lofty titles for the president in the Senate, while they roll their eyes at him. He then explains to Abigail why the nation needs authority and splendour. Now, there's a dinnertable discussion between Hamilton and Jefferson where Hamilton explains his sound plans and Jefferson acts like a dumbface.
Oh, I love this episode. The rancor between Hamilton and Jefferson is excellent. The crazed look in Jefferson's eyes when he talks about revolution, while prancing around in the fanciest clothes out of everyone in government. Excellent.
Oh, this episode is making me giggle like a schoolgirl. Hamilton is passionately pleading with Adams to advance the cause of good government while Jefferson is formenting revolution and anarchy. Awesome. Pinckney's neat too.
Citizen Genêt is a punk, though. A little bratty child with an insane zeal for violence.

This is a fantastic miniseries. Excellent acting all around.
Last night's episode with Hamilton, Jefferson and Washington was great.

It really wasn't, and it hasn't been until relatively recently that it's had any sort of importance.

It had importance to John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, Teddy Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson. They're VPs who succeeded to the presidency when the presidents died.

The vice presidency was rendered immaterial for the most part because everyone in the Senate was annoyed with Adams. If it had been someone less tedious, I'm sure the veep would have made a decent presiding officer.
Also more <3s to Hamilton.

If you think John was bad, you should try John Quincy. All his fellow politicians hated him.

After watching the most recent episode I can understand why Burr killed Hamilton.

It looked like Burr had to get in line. Next week's preview didn't show Adams liking Hamilton much either. It seemed like if possible, even Washington would have shot him.

Last night was fantastic
"Are you questioning my loyalty?"
"No Mr.Hamilton. I question your sanity!"
I love how this showed the stranglehold Hamilton had during those times. It's pretty clear his Federalist papers shot down Adams' re-election and we all know it was his hatred for Burr that got Jefferson in. So I like that fact that Adams basically knew he had no shot but stuck to his guns.

Zaz, I'm impressed you would be familar with a famous American quote from one of my fellow Texans. He was a vice-president under FDR, until he broke with him over the court packing issue. Garner was also known as Cactus Jack, and he was quite a prickly personality.
I remember Dan "I wear my Texas roots on my sleeve" Rather referring to that quote more than once on television when I was a kid.
