The prequel novel series were kinda hit and miss, but with some refining and polishing it could make for a couple of decent miniseries.

I haven't been able to confirm it, but I heard a rumor recent that there might be another miniseries in the works.

Would the potential miniseries cover God Emperor and beyond or the prequels ?

I have read the book...didn't get to "God Emperor" though. Wouldn't mind seeing the mini-series.

God Emperor of Dune is a tough read, but I like. The novels after that are pretty good too, in my opinion.

Ditto.
I didn't care for Frank's last Dune trilogy. The first trilogy, however, was awesome, and I really enjoyed this miniseries (so much better than the first, one IMO.)
I didn't like the Baron rambling poetry in the first miniseries, and it was so nutty and stupid all around.
But the second miniseries took itself seriously, and that was awesome.
It could have done with Sarandon and the dude that played her son, though. They were lame.
Alec Newman OWNED the role of Muad'Dib come CoD.

Actually, I've always felt that Dune would work best as a play.
If you adhere very strictly to the book, almost all action and special effects happens offscreen. The only exceptions that I remember of things that a film would be required to adequately reproduce in full is Feyd's duel in the arena, and perhaps some situations with the Ornithopters.

^It could be done. The BBC adaptation of I, Claudius put all the big action off-screen, much like you have suggested for Dune, and that worked very well. It's the characters that are important.

I always loved God Emperor, its my second favorite of the original series after the first book. Heretics and Chapterhouse are good, too, but probably a bit esoteric for most tastes.

She must not be getting regular shipments of spice, because she(Wensicia ( sorry about thebad spelling))is supposed a younger sister of Irulan(the oldest of the Corrino sisters).

Most people seem to agree that Newman was very good in CoD, substantially better than he was in Dune. At least part of this was because in Dune the character of Paul was played as slightly immature, a change from the novel where Paul was actually very controlled and mature for his age. I assume this was done to make the character more accessible to the average viewer, and appear less alien. Basically, they went Skywalker on the character.
