Bride is the best Universal horror film of the classic era. It's funny, weird, brilliantly photographed, and utterly engaging. If you only see one horror movie from the 30s/40s, Bride of Frankenstein is the one to see.

I like the original, esp. Karloff's poignant performance. The second features too much camp (Dr. Praetorius), but also the fantastic Elsa Lancaster as the Bride. It's a saw-off. happy

It's tough to say which one I think is better on certain days I'll give you different answers. I love the dry humor of Bride but I also have a great love for the Playing God and Moral themes of the original. I will say that Karloff gives the best performance of his career in Bride. Anyone who says he was simply a boogieman needs to look at this performance, the monster in Bride is one of the great tragic characters on screen

His performance in both is great.

9. X2: X-Men United

No longer bound by the necessary setups of the original, director Bryan Singer upped the ante here -- strengthening the storylines, introducing a cool new mutant and a dastardly human foe, and exploring deeper themes of prejudice and redemption. After all that, the superb action scenes are just gravy.

^^^ The opening scene says it all... X2 is definitely the best of the series.

X2 is quite possibly the greatest superhero movie ever made, so yeah... grin

X2 is definitely the best superhero movie ever made. Way better than the overrated Spider-Man 2. Dark Knight outdoes X2, but that's not so much a superhero movie as it is a comic book movie.

X2 had it all- great character development, even with the minor characters like Pyro (who had some fantastic stuff to do in only a few scenes- a shame he was turned into a punk in X3). You had really intense scenes that raised the bar above anything previous in the series, such as the Mansion invasion. And a ton of geeklove for all (every fan coming out of that movie was asking each other what names they saw on Stryker's computer!).

I like the tent scene.

In my mind I chose Rogue.

X2 was definitely the best of the X-Men series, and quite possibly the best Marvel movie so far (Iron Man is right there, however). Everything worked, from the new characters such as Nightcrawler and Stryker, to the continued interplay between existing ones. Add in great action sequences, and superb effects (seriously, how cool was the beginning Oval Office Nightcrawler scene?) and you have the makings of a great superhero movie.

It's a good movie, it doesn't achieve the level of greatness as Iron Man, Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, or The Dark Knight.

But the opening scene in the White House is the best part of the whole movie.

Fantastic movie that stands with the best of the genre and demonstrates so much of what makes X-Men great. However the film isn't perfect. It does have one detrimental and unforgivable flaw: It diminished Kitty's role to just a few short moments. shame_on_you She was forced to wait until the abysmal "Last Stand" to get some decent screen time and is one of the few things worth watching in that movie.

I love the opening bit in the White House. Rest of the movie is very good, but nothing touches the awesomeness of Nightcrawler's teleport-fu.

The Dark Knight blows compared to X2, simply due to it being inconsistent and the ending having serious flaws. Batman Begins and Spider-Man 2 are really the only two that compare and, as Quest says, Spider-Man 2 was slightly overrated (though not as much as he thinks it is wink ).

Definitely the best X-Men movie. If only Last Stand had been directed by Singer... (but still kept Kelsey Grammer as Beast)

My favorite scene was Magneto's break-out. You actually root for the bad guy after seeing what a jerk the guard was. cool
