Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio.

The original "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!" by director/writer John De Bello was released in 1978 and spawned a 1988 sequel starring unknown George Clooney as well as an animated TV series in 1990.

Austin Powers 4 - The fourth film in the "Austin Powers" franchise will be developed entirely from Dr. Evil's point of view. Starring: Mike Meyers, Graham Gordy.

Battle Angel - "Battle Angel" is based on the Japanese Manga series of graphic novels by Yukito Kishiro. The movie combines the first three books, Ido, Alita, and Hugo.

Set in the 26th century, the story takes place 300 years after a societal collapse caused by a major war. But in that society, it's a technological dark age following a pinnacle of achievement far, far beyond where we are right now. It's a post-apocalyptic world from a very high level with cyborg technology as just a way of life. People are augmented a lot as workers and so on, so being a cyborg is not unusual. The main character is a cyborg. She has an organic human brain, and she looks like she's about fourteen years old. She has a completely artificial body and she's lost her memory - she's found in a wreckage and she's reconstituted by a cyber-surgeon who becomes her surrogate father. Director: James Cameron.

Starring: Robert Patrick, Danielle Harris, James Duval, Arcadiy Golubovich, Electra Avellan, Elise Avellan, Nick Mennell, Sean Lawlor, Walker Howard, M.D. Walton, Mircea Monroe.

The Boat That Rocked - Inspired by the British pirate radio revolution in the '60s, the majority of the film's shoot will take place in a large rusty metal fishing trawler moored off the coast of England in the very waters that kept the rock of the '60s booming into the U.K.

In 1966 -- arguably British pop music's finest era -- the BBC played only two hours of rock and roll every week. But pirate radio blasted rock and pop from the high seas 24 hours a day. And 25 million people -- more than half the population of Britain -- listened to these pirates every single day.

"The Boat That Rocked" is an ensemble comedy in which the romance takes place between the young people of the '60s and pop music. It's about a band of rogue DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up to a government that, incomprehensibly, preferred jazz.

Leading the cast are Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Count, a big, brash, American god of the airwaves; Bill Nighy as Quentin, the boss of Radio Rock -- a pirate radio station in the middle of the North Sea that's populated by an eclectic crew of rock and roll DJs; Rhys Ifans as Gavin, the greatest DJ in Britain who has just returned from his drug tour of America to reclaim his rightful position; Nick Frost as Dave, an ironic, intelligent and cruelly funny co-broadcaster; and Kenneth Branagh (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Hamlet) as British Minister Dormandy, a fearsome government official out for blood against the drug takers and lawbreakers of a once-great nation. Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Nick Frost, Kenneth Branagh, Jack Davenport, Ralph Brown, Chris O'Dowd, January Jones.

Body of Lies - Russell Crowe will play Ed Hoffman, the manipulative CIA boss who teams with operative Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) to trap a dangerous Al Qaeda leader by planting a false rumor that the bomber is in cahoots with the Americans. Director: Ridley Scott.

Brothers - The film, a remake of Susanne Bier's Danish-language war drama, centers on a man (Maguire) who is sent to fight in Afghanistan while his black-sheep brother (Gyllenhaal) cares for his wife and child. In the remake, Gyllenhaal would play the younger brother and Maguire the older one. Starring: Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman.

Caliber - Based on the comic book "Caliber" by Sam Sarkar. The Arthurian legend as retold in the American Old West, with all of its great symbolism, magic and spirit of adventure. The Knights of the Round Table are all gunslingers bound by a code of honor to protect the weak and defend the innocent until they are undone from within by their own moral corruption. In this tale, Caliber itself is a tattooed six-gun, given to Arthur by the Indians and imbued with supernatural power. The secret of the gun is that it is never loaded with bullets, but when a man with Justice on his side is holding it, it can fire. When it does, it fires Thunder itself and never misses. Director: John Woo.

Countdown - Countdown, a sci-fi action tale based on a classic "Twilight Zone" episode, which revolves around a group of astronauts who land on a planet only to find a crashed spaceship and corpses that eerily resemble their own. They then must piece together where they are and whether they might in fact already be dead. The episode, titled "Death Ship," was written by featured "Twilight Zone" scribe Richard Matheson ("I Am Legend"), who based it on his own short story published in a sci-fi magazine a number of years earlier. Director: Michael Brandt.

Escape From New York - Gerard Butler is portraying Snake Plissken, the convict and war hero who's sent into a futuristic Manhattan which has been turned into a giant maximum security prison to rescue the president of the U.S. after his plane is knocked down by terrorists. The original 1981 film starred Kurt Russell was written and directed by John Carpenter.

Escape From Tehran - A dramedy detailing how the CIA, with help from Hollywood, used a fake movie project to smuggle a handful of Americans out of Tehran during the 1979 hostage crisis. Centers around CIA operative Tony Mendez, a master of disguise who was put in charge of rescuing six Americans hiding out in Tehran. He came up with the idea of using a bogus movie and contacted Hollywood makeup artist John Chambers. Chambers and Bob Sidell, also a makeup artist, launched Studio Six Prods. (an allusion to the six Americans awaiting rescue) and announced their first movie project, to be shot in Iran. Both Variety and the Hollywood Reporter were duped into writing news stories on the film after Studio Six took out trade ads. Mendez went to Tehran in January 1980 and told the Americans to pretend they were Canadians on a scouting trip for a big-budget Hollywood epic. The ruse worked. Director: George Clooney.

He saves the life of Kato, a Japanese man with incredible technical and martial-arts skills, who becomes Britt's closest ally -- and transforms Britt's car into the supercharged Black Beauty, which gives them an edge as they search for evidence to expose the city's underworld in the newspaper. When Britt and Kato witness a brutal mob hit, Britt invents his secret identity -- taking his name from his powerful car's defective horn. I am sure that I missed plenty. I did not include every movie coming out in 2009 because it would take up the whole screen even more than is does now with what I posted.

Gonna guess that about half those movies aren't going to come out.

Gonna hope that that Christmas Carol featuring Jim Carrey in every role is one of the ones that doesn't make it.

I sincerely hope that the Akira remake doesn't go ahead. The anime film is a work of art, why ruin it with live action? I don't care how good an actor Di Caprio is, this will be awful.

Only things I'm interested in are Star Trek and T4, I mean come on, Christian Bale as John Connor? That's going to rock, he saved Batman, maybe he can save the terminator series. happy

Reading the thread again please for the love of god tell me that Leo in Akira is a rumor! Great actor but he does not belong in Akira. I'm curious to see how they try to translate that to the screen.

'cause Goyer and the Nolans deserve absolutely no credit for that...at all...

Public Enemies, Body of Lies, Nottingham, The Human Factor, and Watchmen are the only films I'm looking forward to.

"Fast and the Furious - Brian (Paul Walker) is freed from prison (the authorities found out that he let Dominic played by Vin Diesel go at the end of the first film) to help the feds stop a heroin importer known as Braga."

If I am reading this correctly, then in the beginning of this new movie, Brian goes to prison but gets freed to help the feds.

This was the exact plot of 2 Fast 2 Furious, however. In the beginning of that movie, the feds already knew what he did for Vin Diesel, and so they catch Paul Walker. Then at the end of the movie his record was wiped clean because he successfully helped them catch the bad guy.

Now I love 2 Fast 2 Furious, but the synopsis of the upcoming movie just doesn't make sense. I guess the plot is, or will be, different than what is stated here.

Of course they do, sorry I forgot to mention them. blush Didn't mean any disrespect towards Goyer or the Nolans. All around its a flawless movie, everyone deserves credit for it.

This is why I hardly ever post here, was just giving my two cents. But somedays I just should keep my mouth shut blush

I don't think you can call it SAVING when we're dealing with a franchise so big that you have to go out of your way to make an installment that does poorly at the box office.

You're asking the Fast and the Furious movies to make logical sense.

Do you see the problem here?
