What's wrong with Frank Miller doing The Spirit? This is going to be great. Judging from the trailer, it looks like this could have the same kind of result as when Frank Miller reinvented both Daredevil and Batman.
And I've become a huge fan of The Spirit in the last year or so.

The problem is it doesn't look anything like the comic book. Eisner's or Cookes. He has the simplest costume ever and the frelled that up. And it looks like Sin City where the comic doesn't look like it at all.

But like I said, Miller has produced some great stuff like DareDevil: Born Again and The Dark Knight Returns where he took an existing character and made him darker and edgier. As long as this is true to the spirit (no pun intended) of Will Eisner's work,--and with Miller, a close friend of Eisner's, I can't see why it wouldn't--then count me in.

That's Frank Miller's spin on it. He's making it his own, and I don't have a problem with filmmakers/graphic novelists doing that as long as it's good. Frank Miller, for the most part, has a good track record.

I`ve read some pretty crazy ideas on the Net over the past few years about the supposed "plot" for JP4, and none of them were good!
The annoying thing is, it could be a GREAT film if it was taken in the right direction. But knowing Hollywood and its incessant need to make as many dollars as possible, it`ll probably end up just as bad if not worse than JP2.

I liked The Lost World for the most part. The whole San Diego portion was hit and miss, but the Island segments ruled. JP3 could have been much better, imo. JP4 could be good, but i'm not gonna hold my breath.

Joe Johnston is currently filming The Wolf Man with Benicio delToro, so it's going to be a couple of years before JP4 is produced and released... probably 2010?

They need to either stop making these or put Steven Spielberg back in the director's chair. Jurassic Park was classic. The Lost World wasn't quite as good, but it was still pretty solid and lots of fun, but Jurassic Park III, just plain sucked.
