#90 - Soulcalibur II

Platform: GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation 2
Developer: Namco
Publisher: Namco
Year Released: 2003
Why it Made the Top 100 List:

SCII is a fun, furious fighter that should appeal to hardcore fighting game enthusiasts out there as well as people who perhaps never had much interest in the genre. There's just something about pulling off an insane combo that gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling inside (where do I come up with this stuff?). -- LordSephiroth2

I hate fighting games unless their good, I'm really board, and hanging around with friends who are board also. So the two seconds I played of this a few years ago wouldn't give a unbias opinion about the game. Whatever, I hated it.

The first Splinter Cell was brilliant. I wasn't able to get into any of the others quite like i was that first one. Michael Ironside is the man.

As for Soul Calibur II, meh, i stopped being interested in fighting games right around the time of Mortal Kombat III. When it all went 3D...It just didn't have the same feel..

I love Soul Calibur II. I have it for gamecube and it was pretty sweet. Link was pretty badass in the game. I hated the bonus character for PS2(Heichaci bad spelling) They should have had Dante.

#89 - Half-Life

Platform: PC, PlayStation 2, Dreamcast
Developer: Valve
Publisher: Sierra Studios
Year Released: 1998
Why it Made the Top 100 List:

Half-Life is no doubt one of the best games ever. Its combination of awesome graphics, sound and game play are perfect. The game controls well and feels great. The game can also be scary as hell. You never know when an alien might pop out of nowhere. At its time there was no FPS that had so much depth, and even to this day it rivals the best out there. Half-Life is gruesome, horrifying, disturbing, and so damn awesome every second through. -- Albie9000

Half-Life needs to be in the top 10. Serious, it's is one of the top 3 FPS I've ever played.

One of the best games at fully immersing you into it's world. I agree: Half-Life should probably be higher on this list.

As if we needed more proof that IGN is a joke and that their members are Halo loving morons.

#88 - Metroid: Zero Mission

Platform: Game Boy Advance
Developer: Nintendo R&D1
Publisher: Nintendo
Year Released: 2004
Why it Made the Top 100 List:

I hear people all of the time cracking on 2D games. They say that they are dated and the future of gaming in in 3D. This proves them wrong. This game is a perfect example that 2D games still rock. If you are a long time veteran of the series, or if you are just getting into the series this is a great place to start. Nintendo sure does know how to keep making excellent games and Metroid: Zero Mission is no exception. -- Mech_Master2

...wow, i'm not quite sure what to say here.. I vaguely remember when the game was released, but never heard any sort of buzz about it, and to be honest I was pretty much Metroided out after "Metroid Fusion" (Started off fun, but at the midpoint i realized i'd had my fill of 2D Metroid action and just dropped it). I never played "Zero Mission"..

I would think that, if ANY Metroid game was on here, it would be 1 of the first 3...Though i suppose they probably STILL could be.. Most folks seem to feel the SNES game is the pinnacle of the franchise, but i actually always thought Metroid II: The Return of Samus (for the original Gameboy!) was the best...

It would have been a much better game if it didn't include those stupid Chozo statues telling you where to go. Not really top 100 worthy though.

A Metroid that I've never heard about is higher than Half-Life! Can I go and burn IGN now?
