I don't like Super Metroid. I doubt I'd like this.

Can we then burn everyone that participated in this IGN thing then?
Just curious, how recent is this list?

Its faster paced, more action orientated then Super Metroid. Its hard to compare the two.

Second favorite Metroid game for me, so I would probably put it on my personal top 100 list.

Zero Mission was basically an extended remake of the original Metroid game, with story elements and post-Mother Brain levels added in, using the SM/MF graphics style.
It's a damn solid game because, well, it's based on a damn solid game. I forget if any more linear elements were added or not. The one flaw about Metroid 2 and 4 is the linear structure compared to the more freeroaming style of 1 & 3.
If we're to take this title as being representative of the original Metroid game, then I'm glad it ranks in the list- Super Metroid may be the pinnacle of the 16-bit era and the series, but there was some fantastic atmosphere and game designa chieved within limited means in the first game, later elaborated upon in it's GBA incarnation here.

Ya i liked zero mission and fusion.. Fun games those were. I like the fact it kinda guided you along.. the thing i did not like about the other metroid games were that they were really hard to find your way through the level design. At least with 2@4 you had somewhat of a guide to help you through even though there were maze portions.

#87 - Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Platform: Xbox
Developer: Obsidian Entertainment
Publisher: LucasArts
Year Released: 2004
Why it Made the Top 100 List:
While KOTOR II captures the magic of the original easily, it's still more of the same, and seems like it was made solely for those who thoroughly enjoyed the first game. The game play remains unchanged, but the story should be more than enough reason for Star Wars extremists, KOTOR fans, and RPG junkies to pick this title up. -- Spartan186-B

Yeah, KOTOR II was pretty damn cool, but no where near as sweet as the Original. I still wish they'd do a third one, tie it all together.

#86 - Project Gotham Racing 2
Platform: Xbox
Developer: Bizarre Creations
Publisher: Microsoft
Year Released: 2003
Why it Made the Top 100 List:
The graphics, the sounds, and the cars make this a great driving game. Project Gotham 2 is more fun to play than many of the other racing games because of the features like car damage, the showroom, and the diversity of how each car sounds and handles. There is enough new content in the new Project Gotham to make it well worth the cost. I highly suggest buying this game! -- kokkeler

I never could push myself to get anywhere in KOTOR II. For some reason the game didn't grab me like the original. LOVED the original, but the second game.. Very dull.
As for Project Gotham: I've always heard good things but i was a Sony guy, and thus went with the GTA series instead..
