I have the distinct feeling I'm going to regret this, but here it goes, anyway:
Stereotype Casting: 16 Characters that Offended Moviegoers
THE LOVE GURU (2008)
Mike Myers as Guru Pitka
"We love him as an international man of mystery, as a big green ogre, and as a dude who gets his party on by jamming out in his Mom's basement. But as a love guru, Mike Myers is getting a lot of hate from insulted members of the Hindu community. Lampooning Hinduism, wow, what a totally excellent movie idea — not."
The problem here is that he's lampooning--I think--the old Beatles' guru here, who apparently was a bit of a charlatan, and that's 60s stuff. It's going to preclude any kids getting the joke, and seem like a random attack on nobody in particular, and the religion in general.
Of course, right-wing Christians are always fodder for the parody mill, and nobody--in the mainline press, at least--has a problem with that. So why not other religions? Just asking, folks.

I agree; all of these films seem to offend some religious group. You don't have to watch the movie; if others want to see it, then they should get a chance to see it.

And this it
What gives the right of NON-HINDUS taking the mick of Hindus ?
Its seem to me that people who want to make fun at other people culture, religion and race or harbour such behavior are showing kind of disrepect to them, a kind of bulliness.
Its the kind of way of superioty to put on others that "your culture is backward, silly, strange."
Its fine how people could make jokes about peoples way of life and not realising how much they have belittle. At the recieving end no one wants to be in a spotlight that is filled with insults or felt that their way of life is nothing more than to be made fun of.
This has nothing to do with ignorance, cus ignorance demands knowledge of all sorts.
ANd if you think by making fun of others (Which is belittle) is the best way to know others
well i can only say thats pure cookoo land.
Playing this type of game is a two way street if you want make fun of Hindus (to be more pricise) then prepare for their insults
But if they don't want to play this type of game why even bother.

I sort of thought Borat was the champ of Offensive Movies. Didn't he catch a lot of flak? I guess it usually boils down to whose ox is being gored.

The difficulty, Darth, with political correctness, is that exempting a particular group from jokes or villainy is condescending...it suggests, if you think about it, that they are not really human.
Next on the list: "NORBIT (2007)
Eddie Murphy as Rasputia and Mr. Wong
"Norbit is a remarkable film. Surely it seems impossible for one movie to offend African-American women, Asian-Americans, overweight Americans, and any paying American moviegoer. But Eddie Murphy manages to do so in Norbit, racking up an unprecedented eight Razzie noms in the process. The film, like the character Rasputia, is one 400-pound, foul-mouthed gaffe. The tagline says it all: ''Have you ever made a really big mistake?''
It beats me why comedians are so attached to drag...maybe there's a PhD thesis in there somewhere. In any case, Murphy probably cost himself a Best Supporting Oscar with this film, which came out during the run-up to the Oscars (he was nominated for "Dreamgirls").

BORAT (2006)
Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat Sagdiyev
"Parodying prejudice is tough to do without coming off as, well, prejudiced. Borat is politically incorrect, sexist, and racist; he pissed off the Kazakh government, feminists, Jews, and parents with kids who repeat everything they hear; the film promotes unethical and offensive behavior, it's tasteless, appalling... but it's funny. It's just so, so funny. Is it possible to be enjoyably offended?"
Yup, it is.

Its called free speech. We are allowed to critize Radcial Islam (sort of anyway), despite it being Religon. Why not Buddism and Hinduism, both have dangrous (and stupid) elements like all religons...including Islam. Religon unlike Race is a choice of belifes, AKA a choosable idea, And up to srucitny and TEMPERED ridcule unlike race. Everything is in Amercia, and the west is like that. In order to be respected you have too. If you keep yourself at arm's length, you'll never be accepted. There are no different rules for different groups. if anything
South Park said it best in Cartoon Wars (that they as non christians...one a former Jew can make fun of Jesus and Chritans all they want but attack anything other than Jesus THAT'S RACIST....even though it isn't. Its the exact opposite.) All thats doing is giving hindu's more rights....just because they don't want their ideas challanged like Christians are, every day. Not everything in Amercia is a Blackface routine.

Exactly. There is nothing wrong with ridiculing another religion.
As for Borat, I think that his appeal comes from being offensive out of ignorance, not hatred. He doesn't know why he fears the Jews except what he had been brought up to believe about them.

Borat was funny?
I thought it was more...boring and repetitive. Funny at times, I will admit.

MALIBU'S MOST WANTED (2003)
Jamie Kennedy as Brad ''B-Rad'' Gluckman
"B-Rad's motto, ''Don't be hatin'!'' asks a lot from any audience watching Malibu's Most Wanted. He's a white guy who thinks he's black, and the shtick gets old fast — think awful lyrics (''I can rap about anything. Shrink, shrink. Blinkity-blink''), yo-mama jokes, and bad Snoop impressions (''I'm the shiznit''). B-Rad isn't ''acting black'' as his father suggests in the film. He's just acting downright annoying."
Haven't seen this. Thank God.

I think Jamie Kennedy actually made a pretty good parody of pale white boys that want to be black, because they think it makes them harder.
It's hard to believe that nobody in this region of the world hasn't met at least one or two people like this.
It doesn't concentrate on just a white guy trying to "Act black" it also concentrates on certain ethnic groups that try and be what they see as the anti-acceptable burden of real angst when they are mostly higher upper class.
I don't think it's the funniest film ever, it's basically dumb(yet relevant) satire.
But, I'll be honest I wasn't a big fan of Bullworth, which a lot of people consider to be a good racial and political satire, so maybe I just think differently.

I liked both Bullworth and Malibu's Most Wanted.
I agree with Juli... I've met too many white guys like B-Rad to get offended by him. It's really very sad.
