So . . . anyone else a fan? This show really took me by surprise. When it started I wasn't impressed -- it was fun and quirky but preachy. But it really grew on me, and it really took off, and it became one of my favorite shows last year.

The second season started last night, and, while one of the preachier episodes, still there seems to be a lot of potential for this season. There doesn't seem to be any more ambiguity about the nature of what's going on, as there was first season, so now we get to see what Eli will actually do with what he's got.

Anyway. Good show. Different from anything else on TV. Recommended.

I only saw the pilot, and wasn't entirely impressed, but I also wasn't paying as much attention to it. What exactly is the premise?

It's about a lawyer who doesn't have a conscience who suddenly starts getting visions and premonitions guiding him to take certain cases that are more about helping people, rather than a big paycheck. He also finds out he has a brain aneurysm, so he don't know if the visions are really from God, or if they're just hallucinations. (In the season 2 premiere we find out that the visions are from God.)

I love this show, it took me completely by surprise, now it's one of my favorites.

Now *there's* an unusual premise!

What my esteemed colleague fails to mention is that the hallucinations frequently take the form of song-and-dance numbers!

Meh. Disappointing episode. One of the least charming, most liberal preachy episodes to date.

I decided to get caught up on this show, and I'm up to the second episode of this season but I've really enjoyed it up to this point. Caught me off guard for sure.

Unfortunately, this season has been mostly miss so far. sad I was charmed and engaged by the first season, but this one's trying to lose me. Guggenheim has promised big things, though, so I'm on for a while longer, anyway.

Yeah, the first season was way better. I really didn't like that journal, I'm glad he burned it. It just seemed to take away some of the mysteriousness. Pretty soon he'll be getting a midichlorian count instead of acupuncture.
