Did you see the signatures in the cement? That's what I'd find interesting.

It's a shame that Grauman's is in the worst part of Hollywood. It's a beautiful theater surrounded by bums and slums. The footprints are still really cool to look at, and inside, it's a BEAUTIFUL theater.

Next: Hoover Dam

Location: Border of Nevada and Arizona, USA

Reason: A masterpiece of engineering from the Great Depression

The Colorado River consistently caused terrible flooding, particularly in California. Several states had to agree before work on a dam to prevent flooding and to provide electricity and irrigation.

I remember first learning about the Hoover Dam thanks to a computer game - it was featured as a 'Wonder of the World' you could build in the Civilization computer game series (though I believe in Civilization IV it's been replaced by the Three Gorges Dam in China).

I attended any number of birthday parties here when I was a little girl. It was very popular to have a pioneer themed party in my hometown (just outside Salt Lake City), and so lots of them were hosted here. We did taffy pulls, and learned a lot about Utah's early history. A wonderful place for any history buff to visit.

It looks interesting.

Next: The Mormon Temple

Reason: The most important Mormon Church

The site for the church was picked out just four days after Brigham Young and the Mormons who immigrated to Utah arrived at Salt Lake. It took 40 years to complete.

Go at Christmas, the temple grounds are covered in lights, and a life-size nativity scene. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, you can't get into the temple itself unless you're a member of the LDS Church, but the grounds that the temple is on are wonderful enough on their own.

Zaz, you're hitting all the high points of my homestate! grin
