This is basically a variation of "The six degrees of Kevin Bacon", but there's always a different pair of actors/actresses to connect. I made it just five steps instead of six, to make it slightly tougher, because we're all knowledgeable film geeks here in the Amph. tongue Oh yeah, and this was approved by Zaz. wink

The rules are simple - connect two actors in five steps or less, via films or TV shows. The first person to manage it, posts a new pair of names.

happy

Okay, here's the first pair:

Bill Nighy and Catherine Zeta-Jones

I call shenanigans. Tennant is a British TV actor and Wayne was an all American film actor. My concern here is that the game will not progress because none of the actors Tennant has worked with run in the same circles as Wayne ever did. Shenanigans!

Halcyon, would it possible to ask you to amend your pairing? You did a great job with my Quan/Olivier pairing, but I honestly think this one is beyond feasibility without some minute, special knowledge of Dr. Who actors.

Err, no. That's why I explicitly stated that both films and TV shows can be used as links, just to make it trickier. devil And David Tennant has links to top British film actors via his role in Harry Potter. wink

But this actually got me thinking, whether we should allow multi-film or multi-series franchises (like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Indiana Jones, etc.) to be used as a single link - as opposed to what Jedi_Keiran_Halcyon did, having to use two Indy films to connect Ke Huy Quan to Sean Connery. This way, he could've just posted "Ke Huy Quan was in Indiana Jones, and so was Sean Connery". But it's up to you guys. It would certainly make links via TV shows easier.

Frankly, I don't think we NEED to make it easier.

If anything, I'd be cool with making it HARDER by not allowing two movies from the same franchise to be used as links. To be honest, I did feel a little cheap using two Indy movies in a row like that.

Ooh, directors now? That could also make things end up too easy (think of the steps that could be saved using Spielberg), but I'll bite.

Daniel Day-Lewis was in Gandhi with Ben Kingsley.
Ben Kingsley was in BloodRayne which was directed by Uwe Boll.

Lucille Ball to Megan Fox (no directors).
