As in next summer, or the summer after? Summer after sounds right, but I haven't kept track.

From the way that LeBron has talked in the past, I'd think he'd prefer to stay in Cleveland anyways. His family's there, right? He probably makes a ton more in endorsements than he does from actual salary being on the team anyways.
Not to mention, he did manage to get the Cavs to the finals last year, and the way Boston has been playing the last two games, it's always a possibility that he could get them there this year.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed in Cleveland, as long as the Cavs paid him decently - not necessarily as well as other teams, but decently.

I would freaking love for LeBron to come to the Lakers, via free agency. Kobe, LeBron, Gasol and Bynum as a top four? We could do worse. Much, much worse.

You are aware that there is a salary cap in the NBA, right?

Not for the Lakers. They're like the Yankees. They'll figure out some way around it.

I can't see LeBron leaving Cleveland. Yeah, he can opt out after the 09-10 season, but he's a freaking GOD in Cleveland. The only way he leaves, IMO, is if he leaves Cleveland like Karl Malone left Utah ... as an old vet searching for an elusive championship.
But, after Cleveland wins the 08-09 championship, that won't be a consideration anyways.
And, besides that, he can get more base money from Cleveland in a contract than from anyone else, and with his status being where it is, I can't see endorsement money being any higher in a bigger market.

Yeah, its hard to see his endorsement value rising much higher than it already is.

i think if he leaves it would likely be to play in a stadium that's still being built, in brooklyn. but i agree that he'll probably stick with the cavs.

Though the turnovers improved slightly (only 12 for the game for the Lakers), and 4 out of 5 starters in double figures (Kobe lead the way with 33, Gasol & Odom both had double-doubles), the purple & gold just couldn't keep up with the Jazz today, dropping game 4 by a score of 123-115 (OT). Though it would be nice if the Lakers would win a game in Utah, if the series ends up having the home team win each game, then I'm not to worried. What am I worried about? The bench (only 16 points today- 11 from Vujacic, 5 from Walton) & Kobe's back (had spasms throughout the game). The scheduling, of course, is horrendous..............game 5 isn't until Wednesday night.

My doubt about the big trade is fading day-by-day. I loved it at first, but mixed results on the court made me worry about such a large trade being done in the middle of a season. But now we're seeing the fruit of a trade and a team built for the post-season. A team that doesn't have to worry about playing consecutive nights, so older legs can get more rest. A team that knows how to make small adjustments, because they've got good experience and veteran leadership.
Of course, it helps that there are two coaches left in the playoffs that I know Mike Brown can out coach: Doc Rivers and Flip Saunders.
I'm feeling good about this. LeBron started to get his swagger back last night, and that could spell the end for the Boston Three Party. I think the Cavs win in six.
BTW, I'm too lazy to look this up, are the Cavs the only team in the NBA with two #1 overall picks on the roster (Joe Smith, LeBron James)?
