That series, yes... but the whole season? They were an incredibly dominant team, and their record proves that beyond doubt.

Very interesting article.

Stephen Jackson wants to be traded to the Cavs... or Dallas/Houston/San Antonio. Or the Knicks. This list compiled because he wants to win a championship. Knicks? raised_brow

Anyways, Inty, you want him on the Cavs? And if so, who would you be willing to deal for him?

No. I really don't want him. Not the least of reasons would be because our movable pieces I like a whole lot better than I like him. The only move I want to see the Cavs make from here on out would be if someone dangled a nice piece for an expiring. Then, as much as I love Z, I'd move him in a heartbeat to get a young 2-guard with range, or a young big.

As to Stephen Jackson ... he doesn't bring enough to the table to put us over the top. I like the guys we've got just fine.

Dominance in the regular season means nothing without a championship, or at the very least, a Finals berth.

Well, the whole point of that article is to pick out the dominant teams who didn't win a championship. Which that team is perfectly well suited for.

This is completely untrue. A team doesn't have to win a championship in order to be successful. Despite what you may think, the Lakers are not the center of the NBA universe. Several teams this year were quite a surprise and did well: Denver, Portland, Orlando and Atlanta to name a few. Just like there were a few teams that did surprisingly poorly, such as Detroit, San Antonio, New Orleans and Phoenix.

If, as you say, the only 2 teams that matter are the ones who made the Finals, then I guess the other 28 teams should fire their coaches and completely revamp their lineups.

If that were true than the ATL Braves would be considered mildly succesful.

My point was simply to have a dominant team, one must at least win their conference. A team can very easily have a successful season, and not win their conference or do well in the playoffs (or even make the playoffs).

Then why do you suggest Sacramento as #1 when they couldn't even win their conference?

'Dominant team not to win the title', by definition, means a team that crushed all before them in the regular season and then failed to win in the playoffs.

The Grizzlies have an assemblage of nice young talent. They are slowly developing one step at a time.

One good way of ruining that is by bringing AI into town.

Good job.

Dude, they already ruined it by bringing in Zach Randolph. AI, Randolph, Gay, Mayo...this team may seriously get like 4 assists. For the entire season.

Yeah, on paper, the Grizzlies look good, but this is a horrid combination of players.
