I can't believe nobody has posted on this yet, since it occurred yesterday, but congrats to Randy Johnson for winning #300 in his career! I had watched him terrorize the Giants throughout his tenure as a Diamondback, and I got to see him do it wearing orange and black this season. There's been a lot of discussion regarding the scarcity of future 300 game winners. Do you all think Johnson is the last of his kind? I personally think that it's too soon to tell the future of starting pitching. I mean, there's been a handful of pitchers to achieve this milestone in the past decade, so there needs to be more time passed in order to evaluate all future generations of starters. I'm interested in what the Arena has to say about this.

Edit: I'm quite frankly surprised to see how well Matt Cain has been pitching of late. He's had extremely bad luck earlier in his career, but it seems to have finally worn off. He's quietly posted a 7-1 record with a 2.27 ERA this season, and has been the most consistent starter in the rotation. If this says anything about his future, I'm definitely looking forward to it. He's finally showing the immense potential he displayed when he was drafted 25th overall in the 2002 draft.

Congrats to him! applause

As far as future 300-game winners, I don't really know if there will be one for a while. Starting pitchers are getting into the majors too late to really make a good push at the 300-win mark.

One of the teams that are doing pretty well this year are the Rangers. Don't you all think so?

I'd love to go to a Braves game at some point this season. Not likely, though.

The most Braves games I have ever been to in a season was 4 back in 2006. Only one last year and none so far this year.

I have also been to (for baseball): Pro player stadium, Wrigley Field, Phillies home stadium, Giants when it was Pac Bell, Camden yards and will go to the Citi field (mets) in august.

what about you guys?

Looks like I might get to make it to a Braves game later this year after all. We're trying to figure out what date works.

I go to at least 3 games a season at Dodger Stadium, with 29 being my personal high, back in during the 2007 season.
