Braves lose 3-1 to the Pirates. Once again the Braves make an unknown pitcher for an opposing team with no real prior success look like a Cy Young winner. Vazquez pitched very well for the Braves but the Bravos were just out-manuvered in the end.

very small crowd and would have been even worse if it wasn't for the swaths of kids day care groups in color coded t-shirts. A hige storm hit at the end of the game that was actually kinda scary as the lights under the overhangs were shooting electricity across the roof in the stadium.

Crude Brewers lose again at home in a game where timely hits could have won it.

Tim Lincecum threw a shutout against the A's this past night, improving to 6-1 with a 2.66 ERA and 103 strikeouts. He made it look extremely easy, as the game only lasted 2 hours. Of course, almost anybody can do that against Oakland. tongue

laugh

What I wonder about is why he threw to second there. Throw home, and he's got at least a small chance of getting the winning run out. Throw to second, the run scores easily. confused

Milwaukee-Cleveland game is insane. No pitching, though tongue

My dad'll actually be going to the game there tomorrow night, so hopefully it'll be a good game happy

Yeah, good Brewers win last night, if there had been anything on TV at all, I would have turned it off after they made 12-7, I thought it was over.

Hopefully this can spark this team, get them swinging the bats consistently again.

Watching Barry Zito and Jonathan Sanchez pitch is by far the most frustrating thing I've had to do in the past couple of days. Their almost identical outings (7 runs in less than 4 innings) makes me appreciate the front 3 of the rotation even more...

How is it that Manny is allowed to play in the minors while still suspended? I'm sorry, but suspended should be suspended - no rehab assignments in minor league ball, at least until the 50 games are up.

Nice back to back shutouts for the Braves - 2-0 over the Cubs yesterday, and 4-0 over the Yankees today. Tommy Hanson improves to 3-0 with 5.1 scoreless today. He's struggling a bit with his control, but still has a 3.13 ERA now through 4 starts, including not allowing a run in his last 11.1 innings. Definitely an encouraging sight.

I just got back from the Oakland Coliseum after watching Tim Lincecum throw another complete game against the hapless A's. grin He was lucky getting that far, though, loading the bases two innings in a row before producing double plays to end them. Who needs runs when Timmy's pitching? lol

btw, his 12 K's and 1 ER led those respective stats to change to 124 K and 2.57 ERA on the year. And he's not even the most All-Star deserving Giants pitcher in the rotation! happy
