The last of Tiger Stadium came down earlier this week after a long battle from the Tiger Stadium conservancy. Sad to see it go.

What a Brewer game! Down 4-0, they tie it up. Down 6-4 in the bottom of the 9th, score three runs, including the walk off Fielder base hit. Great game.

Viewed from the opposite side, that game was horrible. The Giants wasted two manageable leads. But, their 7-0 wipeout the next day (sort of) made up for the frustration.

Another start, another great performance by Lincecum, who threw another complete game against the Cards on Monday and is tied with teammate Matt Cain for the league lead in that category. He's been untouchable in his last 18 innings, throwing back-to-back complete games. I can easily say that at this moment Lincecum is the most dominant starter in the NL, and I'm expecting him to start in the All-Star game in a couple of weeks. It's (finally) pleasant to watch the Giants on their recent streak of success. There's little hope to catch the Dodgers, but SF does in fact have the second best winning pct. in the NL. Is it too early to keep track of the Wild Card?

Jair Jurrjens carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning... though would a no-hitter really mean as much if it wasn't a shutout laugh (Phillies 4th: walk, throwing error on pickoff attempt allowing runner to 3rd, sac fly for unearned run) Still, nice 11-1 win for the Braves over the Phillies today. Braves go for the series sweep tomorrow, with the luckless Javier Vasquez on the mound (5-7 record despite a 3.04 ERA; last 6 starts: 1-3, 1.90 ERA). It would be nice if the Braves could finally give him some offensive help tomorrow. happy

Ugh...the Phillies got utterly destroyed (something that's been happening far too frequently as of late). They need to get their ship righted, and fast.

What's kinda sad is that the Phillies have been horrid lately, and yet the rest of the division still trails.

Also, the NL East is a ridiculous 4-team race right now.

Phillies 39-36
Marlins .5 GB
Mets 2 GB
Braves 3 GB
(Washington doesn't count at 17.5 GB)

Of course, the NL central has a whopping 6 games between first and sixth. plain

The Twins are quietly moving into a good position as the first half winds down. Baker has hit his stride finally and Liriano is showing some good signs.

Braves were looking good coming off a 3-game sweep of Philly... and then managed to lose 2 of 3 to the Nats doh! and drop the opener in Chicago. Did win tonight, though happy

^^^^

so much for my campaign efforts. I spent countless hours slaving away on mlb.com, only to fall short. If 2000+ votes from me doesn't win it, nothing will. I'm exhausted and defeated. Sheesh, Victorino would have been picked by Manuel to replace Beltran or someone anyways, but now he'll choose Kemp with the other spot. Thanks for doubly screwing me over, Philadelphia.

Charlie Manuel is despicable

This is just wonderful. Why doesn't he just add Rollins as well? He's hitting almost as well as Werth. How much I abhor homers... tongue
