Yeah, it was disappointing for the most part. I liked Fielder's 503-footer, but I felt that Pujols and Howard were under too much pressure. Hopefully tomorrow's event will be more exciting.

And Tunick, I hope that as well. lol

I'm a Tiger fan, and even i can't figure out what the heck BRANDON INGE was doing in the homerun derby. A lot of other people must've said "no"...

I wish Howard didn't do the homerun derby at all. I really think it screws up your swing in the 2nd half. I still remember when Abreu won the derby a few years ago and after the derby did not hit another HR the entire season.

While it very cool to see Fielder win, I do agree that the Derby as a whole was pretty boring. I would watch Fielder hit, then kind of do other things till it was time for him to go again. I've heard a few analysts mention it, and I think I agree that they should just use a pitching machine. Most of the boredom comes from these guys taking pitches they don't like. With a machine, you get a consistent pitch, same location, same speed every time.

When dealing with genocide, you must ask yourself,
"What would Hitler do?"
And then, you know, do the opposite.

I agree about the pitches taken. The long gaps in between swings really throws off the crowd's and audience's momentum. I think Pujols may have taken close to 10 pitches in a row at one point. I understand that they sometimes need to step out to catch a breath, but there should be no excuse for poor pitch placement like that.

That.

Actually it's ironic how the NL West pitchers are responsible for all of the AL's runs, considering how pitching is such an integral part of the division's success. Timmy was off (prolly due to nerves), Billingsley was meh, and Bell frustrates me. lol I think it's time Selig calls off the "This time it counts" and replaces it with "This time it counts if the NL wins"

Granderson represented the Tigers well.

I was kinda hoping he might get the mvp after his triple, but that was a pretty nice catch by Crawford.

Actually a fairly entertaining all-star game!

When was the last time the game didn't exceed its tv time slot? I made sure I added a couple of hours on tivo, but it barely lasted 2.5 hours this time around. Just goes to show the enormous amount of talent on the mound.
