Boras, if he's smart, will keep his act in line for a while. He took a pretty bad PR hit after the stunt he pulled with A-Rod's contract -during- the 2007 playoffs.

I'm not sure Boras is all that smart in that sense... gets tons of money for his players, sure, but gets himself a bad reputation otherwise in the process.

It's nice to see the A's are giving up their aces.
It's not nice, however, to watch the Giants get shut out in two straight games... First Coverboy/Freak/Tiny Tim gets destroyed, then the offense becomes allergic to hits. The worst part? The Giants are still in the running for the NL Worst, so little rays of hope are continually created just to be shattered by our poor play.

The Giants are still in the running for the NL Worst,
hooray for double meanings!
EDIT: Also, ugh @ the Braves offense for two of the last 3 games in LA. Almost as bad as that back to back stretch a few years ago (2004?) with Ben Sheets notching 20 Ks and Randy Johnson' perfect game.

And yet, somehow, they're still tied for the division lead.
I'm about ready to say the entire NL stinks

The Seattle Mariners release 1B Richie Sexson today.
The sad thing? This team is actually -worse- now. Platooning at 1B will be Miguel Cairo and Jose Vidro.

If you want Jason Varitek back, you can have him.

Heck no. We've got Jeff Clement, soon as they give him some regular playing time he's going to be great.
Now, if you guys wouldn't mind parting with your 1B...

Wow, you understood what I was implying.
I'm sure glad I got back from New York before the Giants visited. I would have been laughed off the metro every day.

yeah, the Braves have been doing awful but they still have a semi chance at the playoffs. While the Blue Jays season is already dead, a team with the same record as the Braves in the AL

What about the central race in the NL. Cubs 3.5 up over Brewers and up 4 of St Louis. Some serious contenders in the NL central. I believe one of these teams will win the World Series.

I think one of those teams (Cubs/Brewers) will be the NL Champion... before falling to the AL team again. Bah.
And its really sad that I've pretty much already given up on the Braves season, but thats how it is. I'm usually one of the last people to give up hope.
