A name like that, he should be batting, not pitching.

Well lets see how the Rays react to their first bump in the road having lost six in a row. thinking

And the Twins got another big win today, though their bullpen set up guys are becoming a nightmare. Nathan struck out the side in the ninth. grin Doing pretty good through 94 games if you ask me. tongue

It will probably really come down to the head to head meetings with the Whitesox in the second half if they can keep on a decent pace. happy

Inty, we're appreciating CC already in Milwaukee.

A round-trip blast in his first at-bat, and a complete game, striking out the side in the top of the 9th, allowing the Brewers to beat the Reds in the bottom half.

p.s. I think he won the sausage race as well.

By win, do you mean he competed as a sausage, or he chased them down and ate one of them?

And I figured he'd love to be in the NL ... he loves to hit. I got to watch him take BP once ... he put several regulars to shame.

Just the thought of him back to back with Sheets, and then they've got Parra following them in the rotation. That's the potential to win 3 out of 5 every time though.

The bleeding has been stopped. For now. Once again, Tiny Timmy the Freak/Kid saves the day, outpitching Dempster at Wrigley. He got through 8 solid innings with 9 Ks and 1 ER, and is now set to throw an inning in relief at the All Star Game.

I can't say the same for the Giants' other All Star, Brian Beachboy Wilson. He's really tired...

Predictions for tonight:

Grady Sizemore wins the Home Run Derby, but strains an oblique muscle doing so, landing him on the DL coming out of All-Star weekend.

Ben Sheets, Cliff lee to start All-Star Game

So, let me get this straight ...

The Indians start the year with the reigning Cy Young Award winner
They also have the starting pitcher for the AL All-Star
And, they have the AL leader in home runs

Oh, and they're in last place in their division.

plain

How does Eric Wedge still have a job?

I have this really bad feeling the Indians are going to have a decent second half, finish respectable, and Wedge will keep his job on the strength of the strong finish.

Inty, that reminds me of the Sox in '02. They had two 20-game winners and the batting champion and still missed the playoffs by six games.

And the Brewers make another July trade, picking up Ray Durhamn from the Giants. Not a bad July, picking up an ace pitcher and a serviceable veteran second-baseman.

Love the philosophy of just going for it this year, too.

It's not official yet, but Durham was out of the lineup today... Too bad, SF fans really liked him.

Good sweep of the Giants this weekend for the Brew Crew. picked up 2 games vs the Cubs. Major and I mean Major series starting up today vs the Cards. We need to at least take 2/4 vs them.
