Rangers sign Wade Redden. Other big signings:
-Campbell and Huet to Chicago
-Theodore to Washington
-Kolzing to Tampa
Hossa won't be going anywhere today and who the heck knows what Sundin will do? Apparently Vancouver offered him $10 million a season for two years.

Toronto signed Jeff Finger for 3.5 mil per year (don't remember for how long) and Hagman for 12 million for 4 years. I feel both players are being rather overpayed. Am I the only one who gets the impression that Toronto has given up trying to resign Sundin?

I'm actually surprised they declined Brylin's option. Disappointed they'll let him walk.

I'm waiting to see where Hossa and Sundin will go. I hope the Habs can pick up one of them.
Oh and lol @ the Canucks offer. That's just ridiculous. He isn't worth that kind of money. Somewhere around $7M should be more than enough. Then again, it is a competitive market out there.
Look at Kovalev for example. IIRC, he was offered more money to play in Florida, but he declined because he wanted to play where hockey really mattered. Montreal was a perfect fit for him. Hopefully Mats will see it the same way. Decent money, great city.

So, Jose Theodore signed with Washington. I'm not really experiencing any emotion here. I guess I'll just wish Capitals fans luck with dealing with his masterful performances that are followed up by complete and total suckage. He just might define inconsistency.

I don't think Sundin is going to choose based on who pays him the most. Nice try though 'Nucks. Even Crosby and Ovechkin don't earn that much per year.

...i'm sure he wants to take 1 shot at winning the cup, and then after a year he'll go sign more more money with a less competitive team (word is he left ALOT of money on the table to take a shot at the cup).
Deal makes alot of sense for the Wings, too, as they're gonna have to come up with some real money to pay Zetterberg... He's the biggest steal in the league right now..I believe Franzen is up for a new contract soon, too.
As a Wing fan, i'm on freakin' cloud 9 right now. Can't believe we got Hossa!

The only downside to this is if he were to suffer a major injury. Not necessarily a career-ending one, but anything significant and it could hurt his long-term earning potential.
